Special Effects Horror ? Can you imagine Dr Faustus being played to an illiterate Elizabethan audience ..the demonic stage set...the gunpowder flash and a real demon appears on stage and torments a well drunk audience. It must have been mayhem !! Bit like a Frankie Boyle gig.
I've read all the Marlow's plays (in transtation by now), and I prefer them than Shakespeare's one, but I haven't seen this movie yet. I saw another films about him. Maybe I should. I'm a little bit afraid that I will find Marlowe to much similar to Jace Herondale 😉. Maybe not. From the other hand why after success of the first book film adaptation, producers decided not too continue? They didnt want make some money? This could be another kind of Twilight Saga or Hunger Games. And Clary was so nice and perfect, Jace too. I still regret not to see beautiful Lily in this role any more. I can only imagine the rest this story with her face. Somebody made Shadowhunters but there is no comparizon to the movie, to characters, to the cast and even to plot. What was going wrong?
As far as Lily is concerned she developed as actress so much. She still looks like a tenager and a small sweat girl, so she still can play Clary. But she is in another point of her career now. She playing more mature women and she is more mature. In the film about Bundy I was crying with her. And after very good creation as Tolkien's sweathard wife, she can play the most beautifull women character Luthien (Edith Tolkien's wife was an inspiration to this character) in adaptation of Silmarillion, I hope it would be made some day. She has experience in playing women able to awake the rest of light in such a creature like Bundy, who instead of killing next women, follow with love, maybe toxic but he really love this women in his sick way. So she can play Luthien who do the same with Morgoth, and save Beren, her love.
