- Open your eyes before criticize her.
"From the moment I began my work on behalf of Malawi's ONE MILLION orphans, people have asked, "Why did you choose Malawi?" I always answer, "I didn't. Malawi chose me." Malawi is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Unfortunately, it is also one of the poorest - suffering from famine, drought, extreme poverty, and deadly diseases like HIV/AIDS, malaria, and tuberculosis. All of which could be treated with proper health care and education, if it were available.
Through the Raising Malawi: Orphan Care Initiative, Michel Berg and I have committed to doing all that we can to help this small country in desperate need.
We have met with world experts in healthcare, economics, education, and international development - leaders like Dr. Jeffrey Sachs and Dr. Paul Farmer, who have given a voice to the most underprivileged sectors of society. Together we are working to raise the quality of life for a generation of orphaned and vulnerable children.
Now I'm asking you to join us.
With one of the highest HIV/AIDS rates in the world and one of the lowest rankings in the Human Poverty Index, Malawi and her children are at the heart of the humanitarian crisis in sub-Saharan Africa. The challenges facing these children are unimaginable. Everyday in Malawi hundreds of children die from preventable illness, thousands are affected by abuse and neglect, and millions face a lonely struggle for survival without parents, or adult supervision. At Raising Malawi, we believe in turning these challenges into stepping stones.
Malawi is country with incredible promise. Malawians possess resiliency and great spirit. If we give them a chance to achieve lasting sustainability through smart solutions and the proper support, we will in fact raise Malawi. No matter who you are or where you are, you can join this cause and get involved. Volunteers of all ages and from every corner of the world are needed.
Donations, no matter how large or small, can make a big difference: from buying a bed net to helping build a school or a clinic. Every little bit helps.
I urge you to please support Raising Malawi and remember: by committing a little bit of your time, talent, or treasures to these extraordinary children, you will help to save a life."
It makes perfect sense to me why Madonna is there doing humanitarian work in Malawi. When you are as famous as she is, its very hard to go anywhere and be treated like a normal person. In this part of the world, although they may know who she is, they have no concept of the fame she has. They just see her as a nice white lady who helps them. I think its beautiful how she can find a place to erase her fame and connect with strangers on a very personal level. She must get great joy from this.
The kids are so beautiful and sweet and they their entire lives ahead of them
the queen of pop just continues to amaze me. she is truly one of the greatest people who has ever lived
They should make a follow up for this documentary. Going on 11 years already! She’s still doing lots of work with and for Malawi.
I really think that many others of the celebrities should do JUST that! Making themselves VISIBLE, WHILE SUPPORTING a cause, they stand for!! It is so easy, just telling others `Well, I´m doing this and that`, but we never get to see them, DOING it, or BEING there!! THAT is what is making a difference in this world.
she never dissapoint me!!!
I luv u Madonna........
I can't wait for it too! I think she is doing a great work with her project!
=)
Muli Bwanji? God bless Madonna. She clearly wants to offer long-term help to this nation and any "PR" that follows can only be a positive for the country's exposure. Enjoy your new Lilongwe home, Madonna - you deserve so much respect. Zikomo Zikomo Zikomo.
Anybody who has visited Malawi and spent at least a month there will understand why this place is so special. It's not all mud huts and elephants either; the people, the surprising night-life and much more make it an addictive experience.
Couldn't say it better. You can see from this that her trip was so much more than a photo opp. She treated the children like they were her own. She could have just looked around the school, taken photos and left but she didn't. Shame she's only one person. Malawi and Africa as a whole need alot more Madonna's. She also runs her organisation very well, better than most NGO's.
Madonna is amazing. It must be amazing for these kids to meet her.
I have always looked up to her as a singer and the way she did not care about how others felt about her music. Sure I do not like all her music but there have been some of her pieces that spoke to me. I am a little poor myself unable to find a job and on state help. I am a witch and I watched the whole movie they need a witch from America to teach the witch practicers to not use childrens body parts and other means of doing what they do.
I love Ma
She is teaching a concept those children do not have to live with. Jealousy. They treat everyone like family. There are no squabbles over who has the most expensive pair of jeans.
i cant believe she handed out copies of her book
Good of course I am part of the "Glinda Bergade" as some of us like to joke.
❤❤❤❤❤
i don't have words to discribe her she is perfect and very beautiful without makeup.
can you send me this vid, please?
I know what lodge she stays at it was right near my old house
The reason is that there is no way to force people to change the beleifs but you can show them better ways to do what they do. If they can be open to a better way or at least hoodoo which is a little closer because they do not hurt people at least.
OPEN YOUR EYES AND YOUR HEART BEFORE CRITICIZE HER...
yea, but why would she do that when .5% can buy her a self indulgent video, informing the world of how great she is?
Im sure madonna found this entertaining. Quite different from what she does.
Taxes...
I just can't believe why anyone criticizes her so much on her Malawian charity. It's so easy for everyone to pass judgement when they're sitting on their asses!
Are you a good witch or a bad witch ?
yeah, sure
it;s easy to give the money, harder to do something more - chance for normal life, chance wich she gave them. she helps to build the shool, the village, and...tel all of us, that we can do it to. it;s easy to criticize, but if not she, maybe all of you wouldn't know where Malawi is, an what kind of problems has.
at least she OFFERED something! what did you do??
madonnaisashit
Helping people is wrong????? wtf is wrong with you people????
