It would be really cool if you added an option to toggle old graphics too, i think it has its own unique feeling and look that the new one cannot replace. Do not get me wrong - the new graphics are really good and the lighting is amazing, but if possible add an option to switch to old textures (even if some new items do not have an old style and look ugly together).
Played a year ago with my partner - really cool game! We both loved it, but we speedran it quite fast since there was not a lot of content at the time. Cant wait for more updates now that the dev team is larger than 1 soul :) Great Success!
Alongside the Graphics Update we'll release a texture pack / mod with the old graphics for the players that might feel a bit nostalgic every now and again 😉
prettiest graphics tweak ive seen in a game ever. i can see the color pallet improved as well as the brightness of all the sprites. the underground ice in particular is gorgeous.
It's not a tweak it's completely redrawn.

I tried this game out for a little bit before and it wasn't able to capture me, but after seeing this update I will definitely be giving it another look! :)

The original style never really felt like something I'd like to play. However now I am a lot more interested in the game. Beautiful work

@@ahoo179 I bought it and couldn't even play it for very long because it was so ugly. Now I played it all day and loved it.
Now that's what I call a proper graphic update.
Instantly fell in love with the change of these black-outlined floor bricks (0:54) and red walls (1:46). Everything looks so much more appealing without them.

The old graphics always made other tiles pop out in a jarring sort of way, while the new graphics make the scenery look so smooth and clean, I cant wait to update the game to this new version!
Although the old graphics are missing, the new ones are incredible, the old graphics make the game nostalgic

I have no idea what Necesse is but this just looks like they when from temporary dev art to an actual hired artist
Absolutely love it! The colours and contrasts of objects and textures are much more harmonious, and in overall gives a much better visual clarity :)

My only personal dislike is how the ground sand bricks for the underground desert area are gone but maybe this is part of a different direction/feel you're going for with that biome in which case I'm all for it.

This is crazy good! I'll have to try this game soon it's been sitting in my wishlist for ages lol. Kinda sad I didn't play before the change would be great to experience.
Looks awesome! Also just a question, maybe you could add a pet slot like you have in terraria and add more vanity items, and make the greatbows better because they kinda useless in bossbattle, and a whip like you have in terraria would be sick aswell or an end sword like the zenith in terraria and maybe let setlers trade more items over time like vanity items or better greater healing potions or better bullets and maybe more biomes like jungle or savanna and it would be really usefull if you would see how much items are worth when you hover over them and you could also maybe add events with unique bosses like you have in terraria (This game just reminds me so much of terraria:) . These are just some ideas hopefully you could use them idk :)

great update. I wish dev please add lighting effects and water effects like Core keeper have which makes the game look ever way better
Core Keeper does have some very cool water/light shaders. Maybe we can do something similar in the future 🤔

The only feedback I can give from a first look is that the ice is difficult to tell apart from the water, I would personally use a lighter color. Other than that, looks stunning, keep up the great work!

Everything looks really great imo! Very excited! :) Only nitpick is, to my eyes at 1:02 those "loot barrels" kinda look like tree stumps now...

really? They looked gross and I couldn't even get more than an hour in to the game before. With the change, I played all day! They are a massive improvement.

There actually already are calves (small cows), lambs (small sheep) and piglets (small pigs) in the game 😊 You just need to feed your animals some wheat so they become happy, then they will eventually breed. As for villagers.. hmm, maybe in the future? 😅

The game are so much fun but there is something weird about settlerment strike are they just randomly move across village? I thought they Will kill me and start revolution and take over village 🤣
Omfg, looks it's time for me to finally redownload Necesse. Only thing I'm missing is more endgame content honestly. This game's amazing, would love for more town decoration options, lifesim stuff, and repeatable endgame. Such potential :')
We've improved the Incursion system a fair bit with some of our recent updates that should help on the endgame front. But there are definitely more changes to come, that will improve on a lot of the points you mentioned 😊

Crazy how much better the game looks. It's not perfect however, some of the greyer tones are lost in the upgrade(1:12 and 1:45) and some visual clarity is lost as well(0:52 and 1:17).
Looking good, but I'm personally not a fan of some of the color correction going on here. 1:22 preferred the old colors here much more, same with 1:47, and I think the usage of blue in the Ice Caves is way too intense, I'm also more of a fan of the old desert pallet, etc.
We'll be monitoring feedback after the release of course and change stuff as we see fit. As it is with all things, the new assets will take some time getting used to, after having had the old assets for so long. We appreciate the feedback though 👍
@@necesse I can promise this criticism is not a case of needing to get use to it or born out of some attachment to the old look, the new textures are objectively better. But the old colors in the places I listed are just better, the deep forest caves seem to have been stripped completely of it's aesthetic with these disgusting red walls and gross orange floor, the color choices are odd.

I like the improved lighting in deep caves and the dungeon. Will we be able to toggle between old and new graphics, though? My friend really prefers the old graphics and we're hopeful that he can keep them in the settings.

I have an issue with the changes in color. A lot of the time, they make the visuals too busy
Was it a design choice to remove the blood when u kill an enemy? Or will that come back in the future? Cuz I thought it was cool and had charm

Elevation does not seem to be a thing in the game, so I ask: Are there other things to keep the game world interesting, like microbiomes and ruins or other things?

This looks awesome, I plan on buying the game tonight. Any idea if youll bring it to console and if crossplay could work? I would love to play this with my brother and sadly he doesnt have a pc.
Console ports is still fairly far away, but it part of our plans. We'd like to add cross-play when that time comes, but it's still to early to say 😊
@@necesse I respect that. I'm getting into game creating and I'm super excited to see where the game goes but it is a lot of work. Glad to hear that cross play is on the table though as an option.

It's something we'd love to do, but it's going to take A LOT of work. So it won't be until far in the future.

Porting Necesse to mobile, consoles and tablet/ipads is something we'd like to eventually do. It's going to take a lot of work though. We'll see what the future brings 😊
I actually didnt mind the old graphics. But yeh, new graphics are prettier. Do know a couple of gamer friends who are sticklers for graphics.
