I love this channel , these guys make it possible for anyone to fly machines and not go broke , THEY ARE REally all about their fans keep up the good worth ft crew
great vid guys made two .One like yours very unstable .number two added 3 inchs on each wing .No more wing wag and flys a lot more stable .Pluse used carbon push rods makes the plane more responsive in the air . thank for the shows guys keep up the good work .
They do have a power source. The same power source that a fixed wing has - the forward motion of the craft. If you stopped the air flowing over the upper surface of the planes wing, the lift would disappear - it would stall. Bernoulli's Principle states that a gas or liquid exerts less pressure on a surface, the faster it moves. the only difference between an autogyro blade and a wing is the fact that it's being 'auto-rotated' by its movement through the air. (cont.)
I guess it depends on whether you think of lift, as in the classic Bernoulli's principle type lift, with airflow over the curved upper surface of a wing creating a low pressure region, lifting the wing, or in the deflected airflow version...like sticking a board out your moving car's window, and angling the front edge up type lift. Technically, I guess they are both lift, but I bet Josh is thinking of the 1st type when he says it doesn't generate lift.
I didn't mention drag? They may have, the wiki for autogyro also mentions the blades create drag and trust in balance. Trust by angle of attack/incidence. If the rotation was causing lift it would need an input power source to turn them, you cant say the force of the air going through them is causing them to turn and then say that the spinning motion is creating lift?? its one or the other and its the first one. Maple seed example is drag acting as a parachute? A better example FT flier
Question, are the flights as short as you show with the 500mah batteries or do you shorten the flights for the video sake? how long will the f22 fly with a 500mah thats show to be with the build and im going to try a 850mah nanotach and see if that works for a longer flight
I see the Hot-Rod gyro has a HK Red-Brick ESC..I've seen them on a few of your planes...How well do they work? I saw a 100amp ESC Red-Brick I need for my EDF jet and need more info. on it...Thanks...
Show its great, now lwts poin out some concepts Autogyros were invented by spanish engineer Juan de la Cierva ( go and wiki him). as they rotate Rotors CREATE LIFT, otherwise it would be the same to fly the autogyro with static rotors.Right power comes from motor, but the the autogiro will gently glide. In that sitiation rotating airfoils are still creating lift, no enough to make the plane climb, the same as glider wings creating lift when glider goes for landing.
Josh Bixler is wrong when he says that this doesn't create lift. That is crazy- this plane works exactly like an autogyro. Saying that it sits on a pocket of air is incorrect. Why do you think the blades rotate?
EM!!! that was back than when people took Cd motors to make a Brushless motor affordable!!!? No My Friend. For most of us it was a Hubby, and we learned alot from it. I still make my own motors, the different is now, I try to make a Fri energy Brushless motors. JUST THINK if you had a motor which didnt need any outside source of power. It is Possible, and i really really want to achive that...:-)
Holy #$!%?!! the rotors produce LIFT! They are rotating wings. They don't stall because they are still rotating. The aircraft can stop moving forward, but the wings are still flying. Also you can't produce drag, it's a product of motion. And Buoyancy infers lighter than air like a balloon. It's not buoyant! It is heavier than air! Geez guys.
please make a video on balsa wood wing building There is no video on youtube and no guidance material available for such builds +Flitetest please make video on balsa wood wing build
I love this channel , these guys make it possible for anyone to fly machines and not go broke , THEY ARE REally all about their fans keep up the good worth ft crew
These looks awesome in the air with the 2 rotors spinning.
One of my all time favorite scratch builds!
Looks like a fun one! adding it to my build list! :)
on an autogyro, the wind turbine's 'exhaust' becomes buoyant, holding the thing high if you have a prop.
i want to build this now! It would make a good summer project

I hope they start selling this as a speed build!
Do a speed build kit! this is a cool and unique plane!
The rotors absolutely generate lift, they have angle of attack and there is air moving over them, so therefore you have lift!
They grow up so fast. Literally.
I love Bixler trolling Scott with the one blade prop line. It's about time somebody gave him a hard time back.
you guys should make a swappable and sell then in your store!
nice one! Keep them coming like this. Surprise us. Love the show!!
@daxdadog is the force perpendicular to the direction of airflow. Drag is the force in opposite direction of offore
You should do an episode on single blade props. A guy on here flys planes and helis with single blades.
Got plans, now gotta add to the winter build line up.

Ya, the rotors produce lift in autorotation. It's ok though, I really like the show.
This looks like it might be good as a small FPV platform, looks stable. Do you think you could mount a GoPro, or would it be to heavy?
*WHERE'S THE SPEED BUILD KIT FOR AN AUTOGYRO!!!???*
Even an FPV version would be cool.

Sorry to hear about your broken computer and/or speakers.
I call my version with a clipwing, a swept T-tail with straight tailplane and tailheft the Super Twirl.
Looking forward to this episode of single blade props
You guys are AMAZING!!!!
love your videos!
Is there an equivilant to the 2213N that is available in the US warehouse?
Hardly. Retreating blade creates less lift. It's not usually a problem when you have multiple blades... but with one it is.
can you make it into a swappable?
You could cut the wing off to test if the 2 rotors do generate lift. I'm betting they will!
Gotta make something like this but with a powered vertical prop for VTOL
I didn't mention drag? They may have, the wiki for autogyro also mentions the blades create drag and trust in balance. Trust by angle of attack/incidence.

can anyone imagine this with a swappable power pod?
Will you guys be doing a scratch build? As for single blade prop, they are possible as long as you have them balanced
Could you build this as a strap on wing for the nutball fuselage?
What about building one with a large single disc instead of two?? Would it work?
Since 2006 .......... sorry guy's try since the 1950's
do you need to balance the props on the top of the gyrocopter?
where can I buy?
Those are sweet!
Auto gyros are really cool!!
is it possible to do slinge blade gyro copter. and have counter weight?
Question, are the flights as short as you show with the 500mah batteries or do you shorten the flights for the video sake? how long will the f22 fly with a 500mah thats show to be with the build and im going to try a 850mah nanotach and see if that works for a longer flight
anyone else getting that screen flicker in 1:17-1:20 or so?

Why is this age restricted😳
Hi this is josh and this is josh
why is josh scott flying with dx6i??? i thougt they are using a dx8?
LOVED IT
if i make one ill robably somehow make ailerons wich might not be a good idea but a good exparement
The wings create lift. Those rotors are just to stabilize it.
nice design
When I was a teenager we would take apart walkmans to make tattoo guns.
SPEED BUILD
so this is basically the same as putting a motor on a big foam board?
Show its great, now lwts poin out some concepts

Hello, where do I buy this one to HK by going to sell?
Deux geunes savants.. bravo
Just Bixler really knows his shit lol.
there is a wing under the rotors
I built one and landed it vertical. Bricks were shat.
There's a D in there I had no idea existed, but there it is! lol
Cool aircraft
I played on the stix
it works because it is buoyant

COOL!!!!!!
How about y’all build a ov spray I think I spelled it right if not I apologize but you know what I’m talking about
Looks like an angry lobstah!!
I think Kaye Upton is in love with me.
was anyone else getting static occasionally

counter balance the single prop, funny as,
does anyone have [flite test] in there sub box?
you need to make a 3d fomie
please make a video on balsa wood wing building There is no video on youtube and no guidance material available for such builds +Flitetest please make video on balsa wood wing build
Of course it creates lift. Nothing flies with drag xD
I want more free flight please *****
god it looks like a V-22
lol, of course i have flitetest in my sub box but i have [flitetest] in my subbox apparently it's a youtube generated channel or something
