It's like a period of mourning that you have to get through. People have no right to be ugly and throw stones, and those friends that have abandoned you are not worthy of being called friends, because in hard times true friends are meant to be there for you. And while I can't imagine how Nelly must have felt after hearing that you're in a relationship again shortly after the breakup, I appreciate your honesty and you opening up about your new girlfriend. When you mentioned “Nelly and I seek to travel and don’t want to be confined…” is already an indication of a not so healthy relationship because it only indicated the terms for you to stay together. The times that make you happy. But for one to know a person, you see it best when you face adversities you’ll really get to know the person. You are right when you said that during pandemic you got close but you also fell apart. When the luster of traveling was stalled, you saw the truth in each other during the adversities in your lives. And it shows how different you are and you never saw that because you are both busy traveling and not seeing each other as you in both of your weakness. Sure, there is love but it seems that it has conditions. It’s interesting that your love for traveling is also both your weakness when not doing it. There are some people who loves traveling but ok if they don’t and life still goes on. It’s not like something is taken away from them.
For what it’s worth, at least you see it now rather than seeing it after being married. You both saved yourselves from bigger problems before it’s too late.
I wish you well in this new chapter of your life and I can see your genuine interest of immersing in the PH hence it’s better to be with someone who will be there with you who is also comfortable where you are and same for the girl. I see that you embrace the PH for what it is despite not being a perfect country.

Hi, this actually inspired me. I have just broken up with my partner of 12 years for various reasons. Your breakup resonates with me very well. We broke up as friends and we still care for each other. It is the romantic side that is not there anymore. The feeling is still raw and we have not announced it to families and friends yet. Your break up announcement and this inspired me a lot. We do not have to resent each other and that we still love each other in a different way. 12 years is a loooong time, 1/3 of my life, so I cannot throw that away. Life is hard in itself. Give and take in a relationship are even harder. You and I have a lot in common. I have been married to an Austrian for the last 32 years and I am a few generations Filipino. My wife and I have a lot of ups and downs but one thing for sure, the good outweighs the bad. Mike...it's a good thing you made this video. The thing is that people who haven't yet made the leap to get out of the rat race live for the moment vicariously through you and when you and Nellie broke up, they also sort of experienced that. Hopefully now, you'll share your new relationship so people don't have that awkward feeling that you're deliberately hiding something like the seafood boil.

agruements are just part of the process. It is the phase where you need both to overcome in the relationship. If you let your pride get on the way, that is when break up happens. If you overcome that phase that is when your relationship become stronger. There is no perfect relationship without arguments. It is present in every relationship. It is how you handle each others difference.
You just got to talk it out. Talk what you dont like about her attitude or what she has done. If she didnt change it and if you notice that she is not willing to change it then you can decide.
I am sure thing like this can happen again in your next relationship. It just how you handled things out, both of you. It is either you acknowledge your difference or get your pride on the way and leave.

You are not alone in this situation Mike. I was very stressed during this corona years especially giving birth at the start of the pandemic. I was very vocal saying it to my husband that i cant do it anymore. I need to go Home back to the Philippines where my mom can take Care of me. Luckily i went to Iceland for a week with some students from our School. It helped me a lot. 1 week alone time with myself and be myself without thinking for others and others needs (making food, cleaning the house og etc). I am happy to see you both are couping ❤
