Thank you, Dr. Prasad. I just had my first botox treatment this morning. The doctor who did my treatment told me that everyone is different. Being a health professional myself, I understand that. She said that at our next appointment in 12 weeks, she could refine things and that I should keep track of the improvement (or lack thereof) between then and now. She also mentioned that if there was a drastic problem (which she did not expect), I could come in sooner. It was very comforting hearing your advice since you are so experienced in this procedure.
Glad you found the video helpful, kitteagirl! I would ask your doctor about seeing them in two weeks to see if additional enhancement is needed, and also to establish your baseline for future treatment. Good luck with your ongoing treatment!
Glad I watched this, I have had botox several times -- yesterday again and noticed this same line but she only injected into/around the middle of the eyes this time as said the botox wasn't fully worn off from last time in the forehead (6 Months ago, tends to last long for me there) not overly concerned though. I always seem to get weird lines before it fully kicks in, just worried me she didnt do all over the forehead this time.
Just came across this video. I just had botox in my forehead first time, 32 units, three weeks ago. At two weeks, I still could move my forehead above my eyebrows where the worst lines are. I went back and she only gave me one unit on each side. Now at three weeks, no difference at all. Very disappointed. The middle of my forehead looks great. I just think she didn't do enough units for the above eyebrow area. Next Friday will be two weeks from the 1 unit each. Not sure if she will inject me again or if I should wait until I go back in three or four months. Great video btw!!
Thank you for your explanation. Just got Botox 3 days ago and I am having the same issue. I get Botox on my face for over 4 years but this is the first time I experience it.
I just had botox for forehead lines. I have had it before, but this was a new doctor. It seems that 3 days latter, my eyelids are more hooded? Should I call for an "adjustment"? Can anything be done?
Hi Sirius Alien, Too much Botox in the forehead can cause the forehead muscles to relax too much and droop, causing the brow to descend, and make your eyelids appear hooded. You would need an examination to see if it's possible to relax opposing muscles to provide a lifting effect called the Botox brow lift. If that's not applicable to your situation, then you will have to wait until the Botox wears off. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Thank you Dr Prasad for this very informative video. I just had my masseters done last Thursday so it's been slightly more than a week. I have a question with doing masseters. Can Botox/Dysport eventually cause the chin to have jowls? Since the masseter muscles get smaller and I wonder if the skin around the area will become loose and sag. And if so needing a face lift in the end is just not worth it. What are your thoughts? Thanks.
Hi, Treatment of the masseter muscle with Botox will not cause jowls. You can refer to this video about causes and treatments for jowls - ruclips.net/video/bMBm37wFwNE/видео.html
Hi KIRU, It may be due to more muscle activity with facial expressions on one side of your forehead, but this is not unusual. You can refer to this more recent video about treating forehead lines - ruclips.net/video/MU7LKtNfcng/видео.html
I got botox last Friday exactly 7 days ago today. My right eye is more hooded than the left eye so the Dr. Put 3 units above each brow. I don't see or feel any difference. Why does it take so damn long to work? Lol
Hi Kimberly, You need more time to see if Botox is indeed the right treatment for your hooded eyelid, as you are still days away from its peak effect, as explained in the video. I hope this helps you.
Hi Meghan Meguro, Yes, it is true that peak effects of Botox takes two weeks to be seen, which is why I follow up with my Botox patients two weeks after treatment, as explained in the video. I hope this clarifies things for you.
I just did my Botox.. 54 unites , after 2/3 weeks my lines don’t disappear I did send pictures of my face to the dr.. why I don’t have any results ? Same wrinkles all over my face. Not even one go away??? Please help .
Hi Donna Ryhter, Sorry to hear that, but I would have to see the types of wrinkles you have, and which areas of the face. Botox primarily treats wrinkles that appear with muscle movement. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Under my eyes forehead..11 ! They don’t go away! Zero !!!I’m very surprised and shocked..54 unites.. my lest Botox was over year ago.. and I just did one month ago ..thanks for your reply
Hi Donna Ryhter, Sorry to hear that. Number 11 lines can fade with successive treatments as less muscle activity will soften their appearance, even when there is no facial expression. It's important to establish a baseline dosage, so you can up the dosage on the next treatment, but the doctor must do it carefully to still allow for some facial expression. I hope this helps.
So, will this ultimately correct itself in 2 weeks? I’m exactly as your patient, 4 days post op, and have the same look with the parentheses lines ( two small patches of lines middle of forehead and very obvious when eyebrows raised at peak). To me, it looks like maybe the Botox just hasn’t taken effect fully yet? If I go back too soon before 2 weeks to get it adjusted, might it just make matters worse?
Hi Gucci Mayne, I advise that no more Botox is added until the two week point because too much may be used, and facial movement is too adversely affected. The peak effects of Botox come at two weeks after treatment, so it's too early to determine your results. At your two week follow up, you may also want to discuss filler for your parentheses lines. You can refer to this recent video about treating parentheses lines ruclips.net/video/B1IBbQH3HAQ/видео.html
Hi Lavi Ki, Botox doesn't cause muscle atrophy as its effects on limiting muscle activity is temporary. Botox can reduce appearance of lines over time as consistent use results in less creasing of the skin due to muscle activity, but muscle activity can return fully if you stop using it. I hope this clarifies things for you.
Hi@@tenzinminkyi4038, There are no side effects to the neurotoxin itself. However, if too much Botox is used, you are stuck with the look, or the limited to no muscle movement until the effects start wearing off after around 4-6 months. Also you want to have treatment done in a sterile setting to avoid infections from the needle and skin surface. I'm conservative in the first injection treatment, and add a little more if needed in two weeks to prevent too much use of Botox. I hope this clarifies things for you.

Dr. Prasad, I had botox 8 days ago with not much difference. The NP said it will take "at least" 2 weeks. True?
