- Huntingdon Quebec: a Poutine Paradise!
Leo Leblanc offert des chiens chaude: hotdogs avec son 'special secret sauce'... as well as Yvette's astonishing Poutine!
Just like when old Mr. Pivins came in from the cold after duck hunting...
A NASH??? "Heh heh.. it must be the Mustard!" the strange dude replies.
More likely Pinoqachole was added to the sauce.
pivans use to b sold on his bicycle..a long time ago...oh ya i was born across walkers bridge.hi joe and betty
Each time I go railfanning in Southern Quebec, I gotta stop by Leblanc Patate.
Well worth the drive from Ottawa. Excellent food! I'll be back this Summer!
Danger! This stuff is very hard to eat while driving a 1933 MG at 75 mph down route 87!
Just don't park your '33 MG outside while you get your hotdogs! The pigeons will leave a "special secret sauce" stains on it !
But If anyone asks about them, just say "It must be the mustard!"
born in this great friendly town.now live 400 miles away and brag to coworkers that this is the best in all of canada.eating at pivans bring back memories to my tastebuds.salut
I loved eating here as a kid when I lived in Athelstan and Huntingdon, used to go there a lot in the late '70s and very early '80s and then a few times starting in '84 after I no longer lived in either community. I always got steamers & fries, as that was the only food they had that interested me at that time. The last time I had food from there was in mid-99 when I went to visit my former foster parents who live in Athelstan.
The other place I used to get steamers & fries in the '70s and '80s was just down the street from them and don't remember the name, but sometime in the '90s got turned into Leonidas Deli.
Leonidas? Ah, yes- everyone called it "THE COORSH"! Because the sign said this. Coorsh was the name of a smoked meat supplier in Montreal and obviously they provided you with a sign also, if you served their product.
Anyhow Pivins /Leblancs is largely overrated. Baseball stadium hot dogs, but at a much cheaper price. I once suggested they start serving Merguez, Kalbasa and other great hotdogs, but they and their clientele had never heard "them weird furrin' things"
Every time I get home I stop in... almost like a pilgrimage Great to see it I was going to say immortalized but the food and atmosphere did that long before video.
Spent many weekends in the fifties and sixties in Huntingdon area, always stopped at the chip wagon. Delicious!
Every time i go to visit my grandma and grandpa in Chateaugay ny i must make a trip to Huntingdon just for the hotdogs. Can't wait to go back again
You can eat better and CHEAPER hot-dogs by shopping at your local IGA or Price-chopper for plain wieners and plain white bread. which is ALL this place serves.
STOP BEING SO NEGATIVE! Their hotdogs are real good! And the Yvette's Poutine is to dye for!
Leblank's use's a willy waller for his patates.
I never knew about this spot. Very rare that we drive through here, but will definitely stop for some frites next time we're in the area. BTW Nicely done video!
I was there last Thursday ( Sept-22-2011 ). had 3 all dressed and a grosse frites. Very good stuff !!!!!
@elgintv What was the name of the TV show / host that this segment was on? I remember watching him!
What an awesome video, I can't wait to come back out for a steamy.
Steamie? See my replies to others here! Maybe it's the special-secret sauce.
AND the great french fries and poutine! The hotdogs are ordinary.
i live there
Do you much rooms in yr house? Or in your spaghetti sauce? ;-)
FASTEST RESTO IN HUNTINGDON, fuck that other place a-ziffles or something like that it take you like 30 mins to get a fucking poutine
Yep...must be typical anglophone from Quebec...after 65 years living in "La belle province" still can't say two words in French...
love it!
Are you the one that bought the old Nash 29 and ripped it apart?
Or are you the sheepfarmer that tried to market "muttondogs" with mint-relish?
Become a vegetarian, young man! You will live longer! Do not eat the hot dog! And stay away from beef!
I'm halfway through your videos and I have burning desire to visit canada. This is new. Can I get cream for it?
@elgintv It's a picture of the human rib cage. You tube won't let me post it, and I don't need to tell you how this has ruined my flow.
@elgintv I google imagined your search terms and then scrolled down for the appropriate 2.3 seconds and INDEED your story was confirmed with this IMAGE
Best place for hot dogs !
Oh yeah? See my reply to Michael Lauzon (sort comments by date)
Hey, bigfoot-cat-
Actually it was "Pivin's".
And the reason the American dude pronounces it "Lew Blanks" is because he is American, and most Americans cannot speak French.
In other words, they are "Perfectly Unilingual" Isn't this sad?
So they see "Leblancs" and pronounce it "Lee Blanks".
So- you don't know much French? Well, at least you have the pronunciation right! Learn some more French! Yo'ull be great at it!
And don't eat too much of PEEVAN'S POUTINE!
Thanx fer your comments.
Je regrete- je ne comprends pas votre langue peculiare!
Etes-vous de Armenie?
Great place, I want to go now.
But the guy really does need to learn to speak french.
@BunnyLebowski38D It's you again 38D. I'll tell you a secret, I have no idea who Liberace is or what poutine looks or tastes like. Do you own elgin TV? There's another elgin close to where I am from(Inverness) but all it can boast is a club I've never been to called Joanna's that definately doesn't serve poutine. Nothing on this scale though, nobody autograph-worthy.
The subtitles are awful!
So is your nom de PLUM.
@SarahMacgregor
Can you keep a secret?
Well, so can I! Hot diggety-dog!
Read about the time Liberace was the cook here and served Lee Marvin and Captain Kangaroo! Just google it. Unbelievable!
My mum gave birth to me live on you tube, I am totally disconnected from the words that leave my typing fingers, I am a pixel. I am a nasty pixel. I am a pixel that can easily be avoided by clicking 'safesearch' on google. In the interests of freedom of speech, you shouldn't delete me but a textual spanking in the form of negative comment feedback would be the appropriate punishment.
Nasty pixels are BANNED from this hot-dog web-site!
You just google *yvettes poutine-pub* for the best poutine menus!
lmao he cant pronounce anything, and its coslaw on the hotdogs... FAIL they have it at la belle province...
Like at every corder of every street in quebec... FAIL
@SarahMacgregor Well, duh! The restaurant does not serve those ribs! Just hot dogs chips and poutine.
And Liberace really eat there, after his discharge in the u.s. marines!
You just google "poutine press liberace marines cook socker" ! You will see it. IT IS THE TRUTH !
He really enjoy the hot dogs when he visited Leblanks patates in 1982, I think. I was good Ormstown girl and even got his autograph!
Are these hoddogs made by Koorsh? Do they also sell weiner dogs? What is a chip-wagon? Strange Canadian foods you have!
I love a good steamy And a massage after!
I wish to know what a "NASH" Steamer is! Is it like a Stanley Steamer? Whe built these in my land when the evil British ruled it!
how were the hookers for massage??
I am good Ormstown girl!
But I eat here somtimes. I work as "waitress" in Ormstown "hotel". You come watch me dance there. And bring me some Pootine. I love it so much.
If you are good young Huntingdon farmboy, I give you special dance.
Ifyou have $1000, I wish to marry you. All Rossian girls love Ormstown and Huntingdon Poutine lads! Ask my boss! He lov the poutine and big weiner hotdog at Piveins also!
@youheardslipknot666
Tsk Tsk! Another "gay" lad. Yes, In Ormstown ve hav heard of this "slipnot" fellow! He shows up at the Hotel with a lot of kleenecx in his pocket, and after some beers, ask to see the "go-go boys". I think he is problem. I ask manager to bar him!
I also say Я знаю, вы встретите большое фермера в туалете для развлечения. It is true, no? .
