I've used this thing for a while now, and it is great for songwriting. I hate, hate, hate messing around with DAWs just for writing. Give me this and a looper and that's all I need. Nothing more. Everything's at me feet with no distractions. What I'm wondering now is if there's any real advantage to using a Jam Man looper with it. I currently use a Boss.
I bought this when it first came out, along with Beat Buddy which I subsequently sold. The SDRUM has no peers. You can spend hours with BeatBuddy looking for a pattern you have in your head....and never find it. With SDRUM, a few seconds....and bang....its there! Also, it sounds more live & realistic. 5 years later, and this device is still unique. I really hope development will continue once things settle at Digitech. One unique thing with this pedal that I have not found mentioned anywhere is that when you create a bridge part, you can disable the TEMPO it has automatically learned from Part 1. Just keep the Tempo button presses until it goes out. You can now teach the pedal a new beat with a different tempo and toggle seamlessly between parts. Linking this up to a pair of Solo XT pedals and you have a looper system that cant be beat! Only downside is it cant be backed up :(
@@bobsondugnutt5688 I record guitar on one, bass on the other and send to separate mixer tracks to record. Everyone does things different.....its just how I do it.
Thank you for your helpful series of videos to the SDRUM! Maybe you can help me with my question: Is it possible to make the SDRUM stop playing the random fills at the end of some bars? So that it plays just the regular beat without these fills, which are especially distracting, when you make a track without kick and snare. Thank you!
@@ThePedalGuy ... Thank you Pedal Guy for all of these, and ALL of your other vids as well !! Very helpful and informative !! I've had my sDrum now for a few weeks and love it, but I was wondering this very same thing. Just curious as to if you've figured this out ?? Thanks
Great video. Thanks. Can you please tell me if i can use it as an on the go bass and or snare drum only? I dont want any fills, highhats or anything else. Thanks
My Man! You are the best! So my SDRUM will arrive tomorrow. Excellent job on these videos! Any tips on placement say on a pedalboard? Again..many thanks!!!
I got beatbuddy mini 2 and its full of stuff but and this is a big but, the Sdrum has a more organic execution. I had the trio+ and if digitech fin a way to combine them, it will be a winner.
@@gunslinger80sguitars you can add and subtract from sdrum and that's a major advantage. It has variations within variations. Plus I use it as a replacement for my volca beats and its sounds are way superior. I have it attached to my synth.
Does the guitar audition mode work with a 12 string? Also, if you are in audition mode and strumming, does the drum pattern slow down and speed up in sync with your playing style?
This thing just did what any yamaha's piano accompaniment does.. intro-end=✓, hi-hats/verse-chorus mode=✓,with drum pad beat maker=✓, just lacks guitar looper i guess.. really hard to find complete package.

Hi Dustin. Yes, there's absolutely a benefit in that it can sync up with the SDRUM via JamSync.
Thanks for your videos again on the "Strum" .
My pleasure!

Why have 2 JamMans? What is the advantage vs 1?

Is it possible to connect earphones on the out of the sdrum? I wonder if I can use it on a quiet environment.
Thanks for the question. AFAIK, you need to output to a mixer of some kind. The outputs on the SDRUM are not suitable for headphones.

yes, you can. by turning the hats knob to "zero" you have no hats/rides

Hi, I know it was a long time ago but did you cover saving the rhythms. I’m super confused about it.
As I recall it automatically saves

Can I set it to brushes and play it live for a gentle brush shuffle ?
Yes I believe that you can
Love my SDRUM, these videos are great.
Do you know if the SDRUM can do regular midi out for recording? Or is the midi out used only for timekeeping?
Thanks for the kind words. The SDRUM can send MIDI clock via JamSync but it’s not a traditional drum machine in that regard.

Thanks. It can basically go at the end of the signal chain as it won't alter the audio coming through it.

Why can't you answer it here? There's 1,000s of SDrum Vids out there.

Can I trasfer beats to Garageband?
Jose Alvelo you can record them into GarageBand on an audio track.
What's the green blinking light on top right. Manual says it hold 36 songs. How do you load that up and erase them
I have discussed this at some point in my SDRUM vids.
Is there any way to skip the bridge and go straight back to the verse
Yes, If you use a FS3X footswitch in Direct Part Mode.
How do you amplify the Sdrum when you want not to use phones.
Use a FRFR speaker perhaps
Anyone know how to get drum fills without changing to chorus or bridge
Watch the rest of the series. I’m pretty sure I covered that
Will do. Thanks pedal guy😘
I hate that it doesn't loop your guitar. Or does it? 🤷♂️
No. You need to sync it with a JamMan
