Sweet, soft & mellow is where I am at this point in my life. I loved this video. Thank you ! I began in music in 1958, piano & then guitar in 1962. I was at Kent State on May 4th, 1970 & being out in the middle of that massacre changed me. I stayed with guitar for a long time, before going back to keyboards too. A near fatal car accident left me with a lot of broken pieces of me, my back, neck, rt. shoulder & clavicle & my sternum. I nearly lost my left thumb. By 2001, I had to stop playing guitar, my hands got too bad. I did keep playing my keyboard & nearly 2 yrs. ago, I decided to give guitar another shot. I can play again, but in a very limited way. I keep it simple & work with about a dozen basic chords. It's my right hand that has surprised me. I been able to do things with it that I couldn't all those years ago. I guess that was a gift from the cosmos. Anyway, it's made me happy again. God bless.
I too, am nearly 79 & my hubby 80. He used to play the guitar, & I played the organ & now a Clavinova. Never heard of this lovely instrument. Never too old to learn something new! Blessings to you! :)
Harp - Guitar? Never heard of it. Amazing, it creates such a sweet sound. Normally I play classical music while doing something else but this video stopped me. Thanks from Great Britain. (Wed 07 July 2021 11hh34)
Just wanted to let you know this is now part of my LifeSongs Playlist. How Beautiful this is. Especially when you realize this vid dropped during the Covid Pandemic. THANK YOU ALL!!!
There's a certain beauty I find about all of this. When I was in elementary school, I remember singing The Water is Wide in my school choir. Now, having just finished my Freshman year of college, I'm getting a harp guitar that a relative found at a garage sale. It's all coming full circle. Thank you.
My wife just gave her permission for me to order one lol! I love my wife!! What a neat instrument. Can't wait to try it on for size. This piece they are doing sold me. Just gorgeous.
Yay, another convert! Welcome to the fold. Please send me an email with your state/country to muriel (at) murielanderson.com Also, if you decide you want attachable super-trebles I have two sets left. Please give your wife another hug.
Where did you order it from? You are a lucky man. My wife hates music. That is why I try to get off to myself to play guitar. Thank you for replying to my post.
This music, as with King David, calms and "centers" me at the core of my being. It touches and heals my soul in a very deep and ancient way. I would expect to hear music like this in Heaven. Bless you for blessing me. I really, really needed this.
I'm 62 yrs old. Until just this evening I'd never heard of a harp guitar and I'm overwhelmed. By the tones, and even more so by the talent it must take to produce those wonderful tones. This is the 5th and final video I'll watch this evening because I can't imagine observing a better one than the collaboration shown here. It just goes to show that you never stop learning new things if you stay curious. Thank you to all of the artists involved in the making of this video and especially Muriel Anderson, you have a new fan
I've never heard of this instrument before...very interesting. I am surprised at just how different versions of this instrument look. So exciting to see and hear so many skilled musicians from around the world. Wonderful video...mush appreciated!!
I've never seen this instrument before! It's visually exciting and the sound is stunning. What a treat to hear the artists scattered about in the world playing along. Charming beyond words.
One of my all time folk favorites. Truly beautiful rendition here by all these artists. Just met Muriel Anderson last night at an intimate concert and she is not to be missed. I knew she was a great guitarist but her singing and her songwriting are really excellent. Don't miss her if she's in your town.
Absolutely gorgeous! Thank you for this uplifting and beautiful work!!! The music sounds lovely and seeing everyone playing by bodies of water across our beautiful planet is magnificent. There was even a touch of humor. Outstanding!
What an awesome amazing sound.I have played guitar most of my life. It always brings me such peace to sit down alone and play it a while. But the guitar will never put out as a beautiful sound as this guitar/harp does.I would love to play one. Awesome amazing video thanks for sharing. God bless each one of you all around the world. Stay well and safe my friend's.
Beautifully orchestrated music featuring many styles of harp guitars. To play the two (or three) "necks" of a harp guitar and also sing is such a difficult task. Only one woman is able to do that on this video.
Stephen Bennett is hosting a virtual harp guitar gathering in late Oct. I have a Truefire course on arranging The Water is Wide, linked at murielanderson.com/now/
Not sure just how to describe it . If I said it was interesting or beautiful or it just brought me a moments peace as I listened I still dont think I could say just how incredible this music & the musicians are . Thank you so very much for being all those things for me
Man it's hard to decide which I like the best between a 12 String guitar and guitar and a harp guitar. They both sound really good. But I really love the rich sound you get from a harp guitar. It sounds even better than just a standard guitar.
These are not musical instruments, they are works of art. Beautiful to look at and listen to.
The water, being wide, connects us
Love your music and your Harp-Guitars. Thank you, you brought tears. I am 83 years of age and a Church organist for the past 51 years.
