Plus NASA even tweeted about Jin in reply to an ARMY wanting to gift Jin the moon. NASA replied: "The moon already belongs to everybody, even Seokjin."
Oh the emotions are so valid on this one. This song is based on a 15th century Italian folklore story, La Citta Di Smeraldo. It’s a HUGE element of the BTS universe story. The short version is a man becomes a recluse after he’s shunned by the town because they believe him to be very ugly, so he wears a mask and stays up in his castle. All he has is his garden where he keeps beautiful flowers. One day he sees a woman picking them and it fills him with rage. Days pass and she keeps returning, taking the flowers. So one night he puts his mask on and follows her into the town. He learns she’s poor, and she’s selling the flowers to get by. He takes pity and decides to help her, so he creates a flower just for her. A beautiful blue flower called Smeraldo. He watches her return day and day and begins to fall for her, but he believes he is unworthy because he hates himself just like everyone told him he should. Time passes. He finally musters up the courage to go to her, and he waits. He waits and waits but she never shows again. She ends up getting killed and he never got to tell her he made the flowers for her.

The smelrado flower is a fictional flower created by BTS Bighit. They did it so well though, and the set up of this story is so amazing, you think it's really a folklore. It's just so cool.
That city's name, La Citti di Smelrado is actually translated as The Emerald City of Oz. The author who visited the town is a fictional writer Ashbless who was created by two famous writers while they in college- John Blaylock and Tim Powers.
Basically he did not visit Italy etc. I do love this blog though. It translates the story into English. At some parts the author is confused as well about the authencity of the legend.
Someone must have been a fan of Blaylock or Powers or somehow stumbled upon Ashbless and Viola.
Oh he wrote a poem, Ode to Those Lost at Sea. BTS has two songs that look like this- Lost and Sea.
Someone must be his fan. As for time travel, it might again relate to Ashbless as he didn't exist and with two people writing at the same time, some of the works seem incoherent gibberish; that may be the beauty- disjointed like cracks in time or Time travel Ashbless also engaged in by being placed in the 15-16th century romantic era by his creators. They gave him life as other authors have used him in their works, with some believing he was a real life poet. Bang PD knew this and BTS knew this. They did that and Armys can flex cuz it's so insane. I love Tim Powers and have read some John Blaylock. Never would have *thunk* about William Ashbless or even know who he was without BTS. Love these guys and their team. AmaJin.

I'm so afraid", the pain in his voice!! Ugh, it hits me every time!
Honestly, Big Hit was very lucky. They picked Jin for his looks. He had never danced or sung before. He was studying to be an actor. They gave him a vocal coach and he told her I can't sing. She kept working with him and discovered this amazing voice he never knew he had. She "Pulled" that voice out of him. He finally took his voice training seriously and worked and worked. The teacher said Jin was her favorite and her hardest worker. Do you know anything about voice training? It's like being an athlete except with your voice. You have to exercise it, train it, keep it in shape. Jin still stays connected to his teacher. He invites her to concerts. He sends her tapes of his voice to show he is continuing to get better and better. Jin is very humble. He honestly doesn't know how good or strong his voice is. He is the only one who can Belt out a song. He has a great upper and lower register and can sing falsetto and more...too complicated to explain. With Jin's voice and acting skills he could "take on" any Musical Theatre show and make it a hit. He has unlimited potential. And as he matures his voice will only get better and better. You are not alone Luke…until now I can’t explain the feelings whenever I listen to their songs. I would never imagined myself liking a group and yet loving them so much like they are part of you..They saved me, made me happy, made me realized my self worth without translating the lyrics of their songs but it will really hit you once you listen to the melody. Emelyn, you just described my feelings exactly...I'm 53 and I have always listened to heavy metal music and 7 years ago I found BTS and I am a happier person, I have more friends...only my sisters were my friends before...but I have several really really good ARMY friends and many other good ARMY friends. My entire journey with BTS has just surrounded me with love and positivity. I still listen to and love my metal music...but just not all the time. I had never noticed how dark the lyrics were and listening to it all the time I think was kind of feeding the darkness in my soul. BTS is just pure sunshine in my life every day.
I’m also 53. I didn’t really know how much I had unplugged from my life until I found BTS. I feel as if I know them and love them like personal friends. They’ve made me happier and made me feel safe and ok these last couple of years when I didn’t know it’s what I needed. My family is jealous. I am a bit too obsessed but I think it’s my season for now to be selfish. To love myself after being focused on husband and children non stop for 25 years. I flew to LA and Vegas, best time ever! If I could make it to Chicago to see Hobipalooza I would, but I’m moving my daughter to college so…priority I guess😉 Anyway, I wish only love, happiness and contentment for each of them now and in their futures and I feel so blessed to be living on earth at their time. The thing when you said "they reach into your chest and wrap your heart" couldn't have been said in a better way!! This song just hits you in the feels. You should definitely listen to 'house of cards' - one of their BEST songs from the vocal line. Also 'your eyes tell', it's an ot7 Japanese song and you'll get to hear all 7 members' beautiful vocals.

Every Army gets teary and emotional the first time they hear TTU, and for me, even now, it still haunts me. I think like you. When Hitman Bang picked out these seven marvels, I have no doubt he had guidance from something bigger. Otherwise how can this wonder called bts be explained? His ability to recognize in these seven boys the magnitude of their talent and the beauty of their personality is extraordinary. And the fact that they grew up to be the human beings they are today, not only super talented in their art but also the relationship between them, the amazing personality of each and every one of them, their exciting modesty makes them an example and role model in this world. This song is just so deep and pulls at the heart strings. All of their vocals are incredible in this and the emotions that they pour into this song are crushing. To think that they have never really even had a relationship that deep (though we believe) to even express that much pain and longing is mind blowing. I think the songs they sing that make me cry are the ones that pull me in deeper and deeper. I just love them so much. I'm looking very forward to their solo work because I know they will just pour themselves into it and we will just be closer to them than ever. Even though I already loved J-hope, his new album is just so personal and now I can even imagine not having it in my life.

This song is from the "Love Yourself" era and kind of emphasises the importance of loving yourself. The boys and their company drew reference from the story of Smeraldo, a variation of the Beauty and the Beast story. However, there is not a happy ending to this story. It represents an entangled love story surrounding the Smeraldo which is estimated to have taken place around the 15th-16th centuries in the city of “La Citta di smeraldo”. According to various sources, the story supposedly has a tragic ending filled with yearning, sadness and sincerity that could not be delivered.
According to the story, there once lived a man. He lived in a secluded castle in La Città di Smeraldo. There is not much information about the man except that he was the ‘love child’ of the duke of Florence who fell in love with a poor gardener’s daughter. She passed away at childbirth due to excessive bleeding leaving the man alone in the world.
Being a child born out of wedlock, he was the source of misery to the wife and children of the duke, who tried to kill the poor boy. As a result, the duke sent him to a place further away. There were many rumours, but none was revealed. It is said the man alone hid in solitude at the old castle and wore a mask because he was very ‘ugly’. Probably because of all the hatred and jealousy he received as he lived, he didn’t open his heart to anyone. When anyone tried to approach him, he would hide away in anger and distrust.
He shut himself from the world. Both his body and his heart.
His only joy was to grow flowers in his garden. It made him happy and peaceful.
But things took a beautiful turn. A turn which would be a moment of beauty within the memories at the corner of his head. A turn that would leave a sorrowful scar his heart forever and bring in tears to his eyes. Fate was playing on him.
One day, a girl appeared in front of him near the vicinity of his castle. She was in ragged clothes. As he watched, the girl picked up the heels off the garden fence, climbed over it, and stole some flowers. The man was mad as a hornet at first. He was mad at her for stealing his precious flowers. He spent his whole night guarding the flowers. But in his brief moment of sleep, the girl picked up some flowers and ran away. Several nights continued to pass like that until the man pretended to be asleep and watched the girl go. He was curious.
Who was she? Why does she steal my blooming pretty flowers every night? Without realising it, the man waited for the girl and followed her one night. He disguised himself with a cloak and followed her. After following her to a village, he realised why she stole flowers in his garden every night. He found out that the girl sells these flowers because she is very poor and has no other way to provide a living for herself. He felt very bad for her. Guilt filled him up. The man wanted to help the girl. He wanted to teach her every method of growing flowers he knew. He wanted to teach her how to grow beautiful flowers.
He was slowly falling in love with her.
The man started growing many flowers for her and made sure they were of the best quality. He wanted to show up in front of her. Tell her of his feelings towards her. But, he knew he could not show up in front of her.
She would be scared of him. He must hide. Because he was ugly. She would not love his ugly appearance.
So he never got the courage to confront her At the end, the only thing he could do was to grow and take care of the flowers so that she would keep coming to his garden. With time, he decided to himself that he would grow the most expensive flower (the Smeraldo) for her to sell. That was the only way he would unveil his sincerity to her. He locked himself in the castle. After many attempts, he succeeded in making the flower. The flower was very beautiful. It was something that never existed in the world. Afterward, he filled his garden with the flower and waited till nightfall for the girl to return. He waited and waited for the girl to come back to the garden to steal the flower. But the girl did not return. She was nowhere to be seen. No matter how much he waited, the girl wouldn’t return to his garden. It made him anxious. He later visited the village he had followed her to before. He was afraid. Afraid that she would leave him in the end. So he decided to wear a mask and go to see her.
Unfortunately, he found out that the girl had died.
Thus the flower language of the Smeraldo is as such: ‘non-potevo dire la verità’ or ‘the truth that could not be told’, which is also the title of the song.
The story teaches us much more than just heartbreak. It teaches so much about being scared to show your true self. Because of his low self-esteem, the "Beast" didn't show himself to the girl and, instead, decided to try and create a new flower for her. If he hadn't been so convinced that she would reject him that he never actually approached her, then he might have been able to help her and prevented her death. It i the "truth untold" because he never told her how he felt about her. All of this, just to encourage people to love themselves. BTS along with Steve Aoki produced this song from the viewpoint of the “beast” in the story. The song touches various emotional components revealing the untold sincerity of the man. It taps into the sorrow in a vulnerable approach. “The Truth Untold” is the second collaboration between Aoki and the Korean boy band. It follows his remix of BTS’ “Mic Drop.”

This is my absolute favorite song. It has touched my heart from the first time I heard it, even before I read the lyrics. This is one of the saddest ballads they've ever performed... no music video, strictly performance. There are several analysis - theory - review videos... all of them on different aspects/layers... and all of them are accurate. BTS has a way of giving you just what you need to feel. And everyone of them has a voice that touches your soul. On this song, there were performances that V couldn't get through because he had actually lost someone. There were performances that Jimin couldn't perform because his throat was so sore and he broke down on stage. There were performances during the time when they were talking about splitting up... for many different reasons. This song speaks to every heart that can listen. The story in the song is based on an old Italian legend (yeah, you can look it up) But the meaning is much deeper. 😊 😇 💚🌹💜

I found BTS through Run BTS and this was my first song I heard from them. I build a wall around my heart to protect my feelings and didn't cry for years before I heard this song and since then I cry so much. They touch my heart so much with their beautiful angelic voices. Haters used to spread rumors that BTS can't sing. They only lip synced to someone else's voices!!! Well, this proves they can really sing. You can hear them taking breathes. You KNOW it's them really singing! I remember "Black Swan".

This is the vocal line at it´s best. Beautiful!! The 4 of them are extraordinary. And as Hobi said it was fate that this such talented, warm hearted boys got together and we are so happy and grateful about it. And then here they all looking like prince charmin, haha. They make you connect with them with their voices and performance even through the screen.

I really enjoy your enthusiastic reaction. The way you tear up shows how empathetic you are. The name which comes first is their family name or we would say, surname. Kim, is Namjoon’s family name. The ‘Joon’ part is pronounced like, ‘June’. That’s why Jin, RM and V are sometimes called the Kim brothers. Kim and Park are very common family names in Korea. You have to do House of Cards but get the tissue box ready.
I’m not Army, but I welcome you to the BTS world because you articulated well what I felt when I started listening to them & watching their videos. They saved my sanity during the height of Covid pandemic.

1st of all, you never have to apologize for showing emotion! Trust me, we are right there with you! 2nd, this is 1 of my all time favorites. This song is 1 that brings me comfort since my husband died Jan 1 st of this year. It's on my bedtime playlists of comfort songs to listen to as I fall asleep 🙂
And when you said you feel like you're part of something bigger, I always tell people that BTS isn't just a group of great musicians, they're a movement. A movement to make the world a better place.

I recommend you watch the performance in Brazil, is so emotional the armys in the crowd singing together with them... Is beautiful. 💜
I sorta remember, my memory hasn't been the greatest lately, but its been a while. I remember welcoming you, and you said your welcome to the Army base fandom was the warmest welcome you've ever had. So when you just said that, it reminded me of how you told me somthing close to that exact statement quite a long time ago. Now that , I definitely still remember, easily. All I can say is that I think I can speak for us all when I say it's been a great experience so far and we are looking forward to many, many more reactions and BTS inspired shared moments to come!
My first listen to BTS songs was with no subtitles because I doesn't know at that time I could find subtitles. But The Truth Untold was always one of my favorites. Like you say : they find a way to touch directly the heart of the listener.
Luke = I could feel your tears before I even pressed play to watch you watch this video. BTS just does something to me, as they do you... They are just special. I don't know how else to describe it. This song is so beautiful, it is beyond words. I am only sorry I became a fan of BTS just 2 years ago. I wish it was much earlier than that. This vocal line is superb = Jin is unbelievable, and Jimin is beyond description. Kookie's singing and his facial expressions are perfect, and then V comes in with his deep ward rich voice. It's almost overwhelming.... To think that RM is one of the writers on this song = It's just amazing that someone could write a song as beautiful as this one. One of my fav BTS songs for sure. Love ya Luke! Now go get some kleenex...

One of my top favorites of their songs 💜 it's a comforting friend to me - really speaks to me.
Read the story behind it, it will make you cry. Its based on an Italian folk tale. TBH, I love their ballads the most. Do I still love Mic Drop, of course. Check out a live performance of Let Go, even the choreo in it contributes to the emotions in the song. Or Crystal Snow (live and look for the JIn fan cam for his triple high note.
When you can feel the emotions of the song and not understand 95% of the words, they are doing an outstanding job. Watching Spring Day live, was my intro to going down the BTS rabbit hole. I had to see what the song was about they projected the emotions of the song. I looked up the meaning behind the song, and that was it for me. I found out how special they are. Its been a little over a year, I got to see them in Vegas two nights in a row!
