Nathan is worried they could hide in the haybales especially if we have them next to each other. I haven’t seen any yet. When we bush hogged there was a lot though.
I'm so excited that things are coming together for y'all. Move in day is getting so close.
You have so many nice large trees on your lot! You should build a bonfire ring and all of the fallen branches can be cut up and put on the ring! The kids will have an incentive to pick up the branches! I love cows! You should ask the owner for manure for your gardens! I'm sure he has piles of it! Your kids will never forget the new house and how much fun it was moving there! Thanks for the updates! It's fun watching your family enjoying your new home! You have a beautiful family! Fire ants are such a menace. I put ant killer in every hill I find. I watched my little brother get bit from head to toe when he was about 2 years old. It was terrible. I never want that to happen to anyone while using my yard.

A couple of outside cats can do wonders for keeping down snakes in the yard! Free range chickens help too, it seems to me. Just some ideas!Congratulations on you new home!
Absolutely!!! We will have some outside cats.
Mud rooms are essential. We had one for our 6 kids. It helped tremendously. Great video.

I live on 1.6 acres. We don't really have a mudroom and it shows. I agree, a mud room is a must when you live on average.

@@MrsAlmaTrumble Hi friend from afar, It is so hard to find the time to get on RUclips this time of year, getting garden ready and wrapping up school etc. How have y'all been? We've been doing okay. Aurora got denied disability 😔. But she did get approved for medical assistance so she's 100% covered for all medical expenses. That's the most important thing to us.
@lindseyw.8959 we've been okay. We found out that I have a tumor on my left temporal lobe. We don't know the size or anything. We will find out more about it in June when I see the neurologist, which is over $190 for one visit. I was denied disability again. My lawyer is fighting my case for me. It's sad she got denied but I'm glad she got her medical expenses covered. That's what we want for me, but they keep denying me.
@@MrsAlmaTrumble O my sweet friend I'll definitely be praying for you. I'm sorry you're going through so much. It's so sad that people that actually need it get denied. They said hubby makes too much money to qualify. It would have helped with groceries since now I have to buy different foods for her our grocery bill went up even more. Yes we're blessed to have her medical covered only until she is 18 but that's okay well take what we can.
Just be careful with the garden. Make sure the goats do not eat your garden.

Maybe get some big barrels to sit by the garden to catch rain water and use that to water your garden
As you move in and unpack, break down your boxes and lay them flat between your hay bales to minimize the weeds and snakes

I love seeing your children helping, and your country girl in her jeans and boots moving the hay bales and water buckets. Love the hay bale garden. My five children helped alot with our place (40 acres) as they grew older some not as excited in the Missouri heat. The littles will love country life too! I am so very happy for all of you and yes make a mudroom, it will save your house from dirt! You are so close. God Bless you all !

Definitely have a designated place to drop shoes outside. Your house will stay much nicer!! We have an absolutely no shoes in the house policy and it helps keep things clean!!!❤ Great idea to use tge other door for that! So exciting watching you get your home and land ready!!! What a sweet blessing and homestead! Did you name it yet?
Get some meat rabbits and the poo is garden GOLD. Slow release fertilizer that you can use directly on plants.

Cows are very curious animals they will watch you while you work, they are big sticky beaks lol
You may want to rethink putting your garden over where the electrical is trenched in case you have to every access it.

I have always heard about straw bale gardening not hay. Hay has seeds in it so you could have more weeds.
I’ve done hay several times and haven’t had any issues with weeds. ❤️
