I was the same, I knew about Hublot before I knew about Rolex. I see Hublot as a statement piece in a watch collection. Not a one watch collection like a Rolex. Since getting into watches, still have a love for them. When I see one out in the wild, I give respect....
I agree, I'm hard pressed to think of a Hublot that could make a one watch collection (perhaps the plain black dial version of this on a hybrid rubber/leather strap - but even that's a stretch), but it makes a great addition to a collection, and the more I learn about the brand the more i respect their desire to innovate - something like the Meca10 movement which is an in house calibre engineered to look good and on top of that has a 10 day power reserve. Definitely a misunderstood brand, but thats the fun of exploring it :) Thanks for watching & commenting!
Great video, Much like the Franck Muller video I just put up a lot of people don't appreciate Hublot as much as they should. I had the chance to try this exact watch on my wrist and it just looked and felt incredible. Always been a big fan of Hublot.
I know what you mean, especially how it feels on the wrist. I think Hublot's efforts to improve ergonomics really don't get enough attention - everything from the case shaping & materials to the way the straps fit, it all adds so much to the comfort on the wrist.
@@ShahLusso very well said, when I tried on the big bag I remember thinking it was the most comfortable rubber strap I have felt. and much like franck muller or some of these other brands you can get them grey market or used for a significant price cut. It's always a double edged sword because id like to be able to support the brand directly but I don't come from much money so the idea of spending sometimes double for the same item just seems illogical
Yeah I know what you mean about wanting to support the brand, though even with the gray market we need to remember that the brand already got their cut when the AD buys it - the discount comes from the AD when they sell it off to the gray market dealer (usually as part of a bulk clearance), I bought my first two watches new at the AD (though still negotiated a fair bit off both of them) but it also takes a lot of patience to wait to be able to pay the extra vs the gray market, but for now the next few watches are all discontinued so i've got nowhere to turn but pre-owned :)
Yeah, they're a very tempting brand - I've got a Classic Fusion Ultrathin on my mind, not sure how that's going to happen but it doesn't hurt to dream hehe - are you still considering the Spirit of Big bang?

If I could choose what to do with the classic Big Bang, I would put in the unico movement. I would use this one as the big bang without skeletonized face😉 It would be very great
That's a really good idea, and tbh I'm not sure why they haven't fully transitioned to the Unico in all Big Bangs, though I imagine its because the Valjoux/Sellita based ones still sell and have a higher margin, but a non-skeletonized Unico would be very cool. Thanks for watching & commenting :)

Not a fan of chronographs, but I'm aiming at Classic Fusion 8 day power reserve and Spirit Meca 10. Yeah, I love steep power reserve. In my opinion in modern watches, when Hublot has 50 days reserve, power reserve under 3 days should be unacceptable.
I've got to agree with you, Hublot has long since had the ability to manufacture great in-house movements it's a bit of a shame that they still use the Sellitas so prominently in their range especially the Classic Fusion (since at least the Unico movement has taken more prominence in the Big Bang collection) but at the end of the day it all comes down to margin and those profits feed the development of cool innovations like the Unico, Meca 10, 8 Day, 50 day etc. On the upside though, combined with the depreciation, pre-owned examples of the Sellita based Big Bang and Classic Fusion models makes them a great way to enter the brand without the longer term service costs associated with the in house movement. P.S The CF 8 Day is beautiful, that one and the Classic Fusion Ultra Thin Skeleton are both really tempting for me to add to my collection :D
Have you looked at maybe the classic fusion? They did (not sure if they still make it) a really nice extra thin version of the classic fusion with an in house movement & 90hour power reserve. Or of the Big Bang’s there’s the 41mm of this that could work. Good thing about Hublot they have soooo many variants and sizes there’s one for everyone :)
Besuty is in the eye of the beholder. That said, this watch is ugly. And gentlemen, stop overcompensate with watches that look like a satalitle desh on your tiny wrists. if you are under 7 inches, you have no business wearing anything over 42, no matter the lug-to-lug.

Ironically a lot of Asians sport chunky Franck Mullers, Hublot, Panerai etc.
