Thank you for this video. I grew up in Bucharest in those times. I was traveling to my grandma with those blue train wagons, instead of individual seats it had a soft, comfortable couch.

like someone else said in the comment section, i also thank you for this video. my late grandparents on my fathers side lived in Drumul Taberei, where i also lived for the first years of my life so it was common for me and my parents/grandparents to take the Tatra trams filmed in this video, along with the Ikarus 260 buses and 415T trolleybuses (they still run today!). it was also common back then to go with my maternal grandma to the Cișmigiu Park on line 66 with the Ikaruses, which during 2007 were replaced with Rocar DeSimon buses (due to line replacement works) going on line 667 (god forbid it was called 666, else all the superstitious people avoided it like the plague). i still got to ride the Tatras and Ikaruses when i was in highschool in Giulești between 2017-2021... glad to see them before they will eventually be gone.
lastly the locomotive you see in the beginning was typically seen assisting local trains between Brașov and Bucharest around 2006-2009. it no longer wears that paint scheme.

In 2023, we have the same trains for tramway, same infrastructure, all of them are just getting older and older everyday. But of course, also the real estate prices are +1000% for almost everything. Sad, after 16 years, nothing good happened. Sadly, after almost 34 years of communism, the entire country is destroyed by parliamentarians and leaders of the country. Real estate investors full of money destroyed Bucharest, which had so much space for good development, they made bad constructions, with authorizations received on a shoestring, and the leaders cared more about their pockets and not about us. I'm feeling sad for what is happening. But, this video is a good reminder about those times.

Ceea ce scrii nu este în întregime adevărat. În România, multe companii de tramvai au fost renovate. Tot in Bucuresti. da, merge foarte încet, dar progresează. Bucureștiul va primi în curând multe tramvaie noi cu podea joasă.
