Used to live a few blocks from this museum on B Street. My wife and I always enjoyed walking up and sitting on the museum's porch. Mission San Rafael was just down the block too. Wonderful area that we dearly miss.

I forgot all about the Marin County History Museum until I saw it on the TV news this morning. Growing up in Marin County in the late 60s we went to the museum often. I remember it being an old house and there was a park nearby with a log cabin or something of the sort.

Terrific mini documentary. Why the ultra low res? (240p) it's lower than VHS :-(

Very interesting film. Miss Boyd was quite a heroine in my home town of Aalesund back then. Please however not that her chartered ship after Hobby, namely the most famous of all sealers, the mighty Veslekari is quite far from the modern steel Veslekari, built long afterwards which is presented in the film. She chartered the wooden Veslekari With her famous Captain Johan Olsen! Her Veslekari was wrecked by the forces of ice at New Foundland in 1962.
