How to spot shady deals, like phishing and hijacking risks. I get a ton of offers to download some software which I never do out of fear of hackers. How do you know if it's a legitimate company versus offshore scams?
This was very helpful, thank you! Our biggest hurdle is that we want to start working with small, experience-based businesses who have probably never worked with content creators before. A lot of them do not have strong social media content at all, which means they either don't understand the value of it or they most likely don't have the budget to hire someone to focus on it. Therefore, we're currently just sharing our own content about places we love because we love them, not because we're being sponsored. While we're fine with doing that, we recently had a business reach out to us asking if they could repost one of our reels about them on their own Instagram. It's a non-profit organization so we said yes and they credited us in their post (worked out well, IMO), but I'm now wondering if that's something we should ask for compensation for in the future...? We still have a very small following so the extra exposure could be very beneficial for us, but I also don't want to make a habit out of giving content away for free.
I totally relate to what you're saying! In my experience, making sure that a brand is just reposting me organically and that they don't intend to put paid usage or ad spend behind the content helps make it a more fair trade (they get content, you get exposure). If they want to put ad $ behind it and boost the post that is absolutely where I'd ask for payment.
@@AustenTosone thanks that would be appreciated. If you need me to forward you a couple of the emails I've got as part of your research let me know. I've taken to searching searching domain name and if it originates in Moscow or was created within the past couple of months it seems even more fishy.
Thank you so much! I'm researching for my husband the creator who loves to create content and has now tons of followers on Instagram yet we know nothing about this. We've received several DM s and did not want to respond without learning. love your content.
I have a question, do you modify your rate sheet depending on who you’re sending it too? Are brands allowed to compare your rate sheet? Can I charge one person more than the other for one reel?
great tips - I actually just started replying to companies in that manner and giving them my rates (small as they may be) for I was starting to get overwhelmed with all these free PR products wanting content in return and since I am still working full time they start to stack up and then I am playing catch up to post all these reviews! 😐😄 👍11 from me - drop by and say hello 🤗
I literally had a brand agree to gifting only with no specific requirements (courtesy of your help lol) and they initially agreed to that. But then they sent a whole contract including imperpetuity, digital print rights and a whole bunch of other stuff plus a specific tiktok style trend video. How should I respond since they completely ignored what I said?
@@AustenTosone Okay thank you so much! I didn’t like that at all! Also, would it be okay for me to send a different brand an affiliate agreement after they’ve shipped products off already? They initially said they don’t offer them but I didn’t ask about whitelisting or usage rights. And now I definitely want to make sure since the other brand responded that way!
Just discovered you today, thank you for sharing your knowledge and experience and articulating it in a clear way 💕 Brb binging your channel 🙏🏽 @MonaBalgobin

Thank you for doing these kind of videos! I just started and got my first sponsorship offer. Really needed fhe guidance. 😊
Wow! I feel validated! Thank you for addressing these issues.
Please do a video on shady phishing and hacking scams poised as "collaboration opportunities". I get these offers all the time.
Thank you for the suggestion! I'll look into doing a video on this topic!

thank you again for watching!
What does SSi Ownership mean? Especially if it’s followed by the word “perpetuity.” Great tips on exclusivity and usage! Thank You 💖
I’ve never heard that term! I’d ask the brand

I see you saw the rate sheet video but let me know if you have any follow up questions!

Hi there! What kind of content do you create?

Sounds like they wouldn't be a good brand partner if that's how they're acting! I'd push back and ask them to remove those clauses or no deal.

Please address brands that are legit but have terrible English and grammar in their emails.
Oh yes! There's a whole other video for that: ruclips.net/video/WggQgUkjUeg/видео.html
