I just want Colourpop to focus on being inclusive and diverse instead of releasing more things. That’s just my opinion. Because I can’t use 90% of their collections.
@@Andrea-df8rl Uhm idk, maybe this palette shows up on deeper skin but the vast majority of their palettes don't. I have a medium skin tone but I can't use many of their palettes.
Andrea same here. I’m a medium-tan skin tone but at least 50% of their palettes don’t have all the shades I would need to create a good/complete look 😕 so I end up wasting half of the stuff I buy
This collection is quite interesting , but i feel like it just got lost between all of the other vaguely similar collections colorpop has been putting out lately 😬🧚🏻✨🔔
This is such an unpopular opinion so I’m sorry but, I feel like all the CP releases don’t bother me. I think they release cute and fun things and I like to see what they come up with. The mentality that regular consumers need to be “keeping up” with all these releases and buying everything to complete their collection is kind of ridiculous. I like that they come out with new stuff and I can appreciate it without feeling the need to purchase every single collection. I buy what I’m interested in and skip out on the rest, but everyone has different tastes so I can appreciate that they’re providing a ton of options (with the exception that the options might be limited if you have darker skin tones that’s def an issue). I get why beauty content creators feel overwhelmed cause they’re probably getting every single collection in PR or getting requests to review it so I see why they feel burnt out. But for the regular consumer, just don’t feel pressured to buy every single thing just cause it’s new and that applies to more brands than just CP.
i feel like they also include re releases of existing shades in new palettes (unless i'm crazy lol) which i think is a good and sustainable way to create 'new' things but also use existing formulas they already have.
@@meganz8038 I mean if they are using existing ingredients/materials instead of spending the money to create new colors and textures it is probably at least a little bit better.
I feel like we should all just go to Colourpop's headquarters, get some balloons and a banner saying INTERVENTION and when Colourpop walks in the door we'd go Aight we need to talk... You have to stop, this is tearing our family apart. (Pretends to have a lil fairy emoji here)
The blushes got me. I made my first colourpop order for them ( I ordered ritz too because....you made me) The candy land I grew up in the early/mid 90's with was much more saturated. Not necessarily bright, just more vibrant, saturated. The palette looks sooo ashy and disappointing. I grew up with those rolling lip glosses and I hated them back then!
I dont understand what colourpop is doing. They release some variation of the same palette(s) over and over. They released a new collection again. I understand that they want to make money and they always manage to sell out, but it's just overwhelming. I guess I wish there was a feeling of freshness with every new release, but now it's almost boring. Thats kinda ruining it for me. sorry for possible mistakes, english is not my best language :) oh, and btw 🧚♀️🔔))
I used the palette for the first time today and I actually really like it. I love the pastels, because they’re not over the top and are very wearable for light skin tones. I love that I can do a more colorful yet natural look. Plus the lip gloss is very nostalgic and just gives my lips a little extra something :)
I’m an earth science teacher and the bonus meme made me actually LOL! The chem teacher always has her chemicals all proper and I literally don’t even use gloves, especially for HCl. I’m pretty sure there’s still an open container of HCl in my desk from before quarantine in my classroom🙈 Thanks for a good laugh; I’m sending her that tiktok🤣
I think what would have been a great idea for Colourpop is they should've done to 9 pan palettes one with rainbow shades and one with pastel shades that way they are able to be more inclusive. Love you dew queen ❤🧚🏼♀
Matte's with microglitter are easier for colourpop to create as the formula makes it easier for mattes to blend. Or so I've heard? I think they're using them more now cause they're creating more pastel colors which are more difficult to formulate.
💯 and most of their original 9 pans were pretty vibrant. Well, compared to what they have now at least. That’s originally what got me interested. After it’s my pleasure, just my luck, main squeeze, etc etc after those first few bunch of 9 pans it’s been raining ash, chalk, and snore inducing nudes from colourpop ever since 📉📉📉. Most of their palettes from this year I can’t use.
I love seeing new CP releases but buy only what I need. The "newest" CP product I purchased was the Blush Crush palette, which was released earlier this year. The Sailor Moon palette had my heart but I didn't bother purchasing it because I knew that I have enough eyeshadow palettes for a couple of years. I feel like at the end of the day if a consumer doesn't have self-control, they'll end up buying a lot of makeup even if brands don't have new releases frequently. It also depends on the kind of social media content you consume on a regular basis, I think. I never feel pressured to buy everything Julia features in her videos because she's never like "YOU NEED THIS IN YOUR COLLECTION OR YOUR LIFE WILL BE INCOMPLETE", and a lot of popular creators tend to push products that way. So idk, it has never bothered me.
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE 🧚♀️✨ dew fairy here THANK you I’m still waiting for a 9-12 rainbow colourpop palette still they released a $40 palette of singles but I’m broke so ...
i’m unbothered by all the releases bc I know that it’d be unrealistic for me to get them all anyway. I really love the blush and lip I picked up from this collection, and although colourpop 100% needs to be more inclusive, they also definitely create pretty collections
Dew fairy squad! Was anybody else a fairy/mermaid kid growing up? Ahhh i was hoping you'd review this 😊 Completely agree about everything. I was really excited for this collection when I saw the roller gloss (born in 99) so I grabbed some stuff an hour after it launched. I got the highlighter, gloss, lip balm & one of their ink stamps in the star variety. I was a bit disappointed by the lip balms and lip gloss because I like a thicker consistency, so the lip balm feels a bit cheap. The lip gloss I can do with because it'd make sense for the packaging to have a thinner formula. The highlighter is beautiful and I love the scent. Really glad I restrained myself from the palette bc I def already have those colors, and was kinda disappointed to see that green that was calling my name to be more mint in reviews
My takeaway from this video, I want that sweater. I even checked your poshmark, but if it fits you it won't fit me lol. Where's it from? Also, those giant fluffy powder puffs actually work pretty well at buffing off excess face powder.
You forgot the wild nothing collection! It’s also collection with a palette catered more towards to light/ medium skin tones bc of how light the shades are. Btw you look really pretty in that makeup look, and I would love to see it if you include the ‘trying out products’ portion in the video as well, just a suggestion. 🧚🏼♀️🧚🏼♀️
i had made some custom pastel palettes on insta with both light and dark options and CP reshared both my posts and STILL didn't think to do the same? honey...
This collection had SO much potential. I have a couple problems with it 1.) that palette is another non-inclusive palette. 🙄 2.) they need to be restocking more instead of just pumping out these damn collections. I’m actually starting to step back from them because of the amount of new collections. There are products I’ve been waiting for months to restock and still haven’t.
I want you to know that this is the most boring makeup. To me, it's not even proper pastels, just boring. You, however, are not so I love to watch you demonstrate your remarkable mind💜
Love your reviews but it bothers me when light skin creators claim it isn't inclusive when I've seen beautiful dark skin creators make gooorgeous looks with this and other colourpop pastel palettes. Just because it's super light, we cannot assume they won't work for dark skin. I wish I can share pictures here to show how amazing dark skin ladies can rock this. Anyhow, I'd personally tread carefully on these assumptions. Inclusivity IS an issue in the beauty industry but there's a time and place. Pastels just happen to be a trend and has nothing to do with brands not being inclusive.
I don’t really understand the inclusivity argument for the palette, pastels are having a moment so why try to kill it? I use a white base for pastels and they show up just fine. Bright and vivid tones can be found in most other colourful palettes and I appreciate when a palette goes full pastel. Jmo.
I feel like it's common for brands to have the cutest packaging for eyeshadow palettes, but then the actual color scheme is blase! Makes me wonder if it's a marketing tactic to get you to buy solely for the packaging so you'll want to post pics of it on social media.
I'd say the most annoying things about this collection are the lack of inclusivity and unadventurous colour scheme. Mind you, for a whole collection I guess they wanted it approachable rather than too vibrant. From a sales point of view, fun colours schemes are riskier than neutrals because as a brand you want customers to buy products out of genuine want/need/usability rather than hype. Otherwise, they won't review or recommend it. But that doesn't excuse the fact that only white people can hope to get the most out of this collection. Colourpop is supposed to be so 'down with the kids' and on-trend, and inclusivity is a morally necessary thing in any business. Surely, if anything, the cynical people in their sales team should have pitched diversity to them as an extremely lucrative direction by now?
I just want Colourpop to focus on being inclusive and diverse instead of releasing more things. That’s just my opinion. Because I can’t use 90% of their collections.
totally agree.

Yes!! I don’t feel overwhelmed to buy everything but the only bad thing is discontinuing older releases?
Yay for healthy distancing!
i feel like they also include re releases of existing shades in new palettes (unless i'm crazy lol) which i think is a good and sustainable way to create 'new' things but also use existing formulas they already have.

@@meganz8038 I mean if they are using existing ingredients/materials instead of spending the money to create new colors and textures it is probably at least a little bit better.
The dedication to wear that sweater in this heat. We appreciate you.
