All you need is a #10/24 1"1/4 screw, it's a 1/4" longer, with a lock washer and a dab of Loctite. I fixed both of my showers.

What is the model number of this Delta shower handle? I want one if these, and the small part that attaches to the shower and handle.

I think I might have a simpler solution. Buy a 1.5" #10x24 stainless steel pan head machine screw. The screw that is included is only 1" long and barely three threads actually catch, but the cartridge is threaded deeply enough to accommodate a longer screw. Once I tightened that down, no more loose handle.

Thank you for your comment. Too bad that @Delta can not figure that out and keep selling this set with wrong screw. I contacted them twice and twice they sent me again handle with wrong screw.

@@MaciejPiotrowski Agree. I ordered a replacement handle as well and got the short 1" screw.

@@CassanoFamily The disturbing fact is that they send screw with wrong thread and too small diameter. They fail to recognize that for the past 2 years. Just send people the right size screw and problem is solved.

Your solution with the longer screw is what I do in the field.
Our dear friend who made the video means well, but that’s working hard there.

Can I put a little loctite on screw into stem? Will it still turn or freeze stem?

I went to the local Ace Hardware and got a 1024 stainless steel screw that was a quarter inch longer then used blue Loctite. I think that will do it

So I used someone suggestion and used a 1.5 inch screw and the handle has never fallen off again. I now have the horrible issue of the handle being so loose that it is impossible to adjust it so it’s either far too hot or far too cold as it so tricky to move it a slight bit. Delta first sent me another handle and 1” screw but now tells me the faucet was installed poorly so they cannot help me.

Delta manufacuring process is poor, not installation of the faucet. They are full of BS and they just don't want to admit they sell piece of bad designed faucet.

My problem is handle is loose at the set screw. It tightens to the point of the nut. What idiot designed this and approved it for sale? Anything I can do to get set screw tight? Thank you

Is your set screw broken? My handle had gotten loose due to the issue posted in this video, but at some point when the handle fell off and hit the ground, it also broke off the end of the set screw (not the hex end, the end that is supposed to make contact). So I got a new set screw, and re-tightened the screw that holds to the diverter. My set screw is Delta part number RP25620

There is a QUUCK, EASY, less than $1 fix to this (with no tools, but a Phillips screwdriver needed)!!!!! Just replace the screw with a#10 - 24 x 1-1/4 in STAINLESS machine screw!! It works and is awesome!!!!

Delta's quality control has gone to crap. I've got a kitchen sink faucet that after one year just came off. There's just a post inside and probably some sleeve that disappeared. One year. I've replaced washers and seats on Chicago faucets that are more than 100 years old - still operating like new. I'm sure the Delta's I grew up with are still working. The new stuff? Junk.
