For anyone wanting more room to work just go ahead and remove the front bumper fascia. It only takes about 15 minutes to get it off. You can wrap, plastidip, or replace the silver valance while you are upgrading your fogs. Don't forget to disconnect and reconnect the Toyota safety sense radar sensor when removing the fascia if you have a 2020 or later 4runner.
Ok now you gotta upgrade to the new SS3 MAX! I don't know if you've seen the difference, but the cut-off is absolute mint and the brightness increase is ridiculous.
The cover is to protect the foglight assembly as the passenger side has slots to allow air to get to the intake. Only thing I'd recommend is aiming them down as low as possible. Especially if you play on getting a lift of any kind. If you like these then you should check out the new SS3 MAX. Cleaner cutoff like the sports and 40% more output ;) 4Runner looks good sir.
That’s a great point. I totally forgot that the drivers side is sealed because there’s obviously not intake there. So the fog wouldn’t need a cover. Appreciate the love on the 4R. much more is coming for it so stay tuned!! :))
I am curious about installing these on my Jeep gladiator, though i am worried about the local state troopers and having to fight that they are SAE legal. Since lock down ended they have been giving tickets for just about anything they can make up.
I went with the Baja Designs SAE Amber fogs. They seem to not cut off very sharply. I kinda wish I had waited as all my stock lights are LED (‘22 TRD OR-P). I see that there is some yellow above your headlights as well. If I were to get Diode Dynamics SS3’s I’d go for the Pro’s.
My 2020 also has the “bucket” over the passenger fog assembly. I think it might even be on older model years as well. I just swapped my bulbs for the cali raised 3 way leds, but if I decided to go with a whole new fog then I’ll probably just remove the bumper for the install.
Yea, install without taking the bumper off wasn’t TOO bad. But it would definitely make the process less tedious! Space was limited at the time so we decided to just go behind the fender liner. Hope those Cali Raised LEDs are working well for ya! :))
The passenger side didn’t center in the hole very well on my 2019 4Runner , I called DD and they said there’s a left hand and right hand bracket, both of mine had a LH on both of them! Their supposed to send me the right hand soon.
Luckily, this set is in fact DOT/SAE Legal, meaning they are certified to be safe for on road use with on coming traffic/following behind someone. They’re also at a low enough location that they aren’t directly in vision of most cars! If anything they’re great to keep on the entire time for other cars/traffic/bikes to be aware of your road presence, even during the day :)
Nothing really. Putting on was much easer than taking off. None of the clips broke, and I don’t expect yours to either. It only goes on one way, so lining up isn’t too hard. There is a slot in the top for a peg to go in. Less of a clip and more of just a piece of plastic to keep the cover lined up for the side clips. Just make sure to put that in first then the sides should snap back in snuggly!! :))
Yea I blacked out the sombrero with the OEM badge blackout kit from Toyota, did that in a video if you want to check it out. The chrome stripe that was leftover from the TRD premium grille was covered up with a matte black overlay kit I found on eBay. It was a cheap, off brand part from China. But it actually worked pretty well. I just removed the adhesive it came with and replaced it with some nice 3M tape just for piece of mind. Lmk if y’all need any help or have questions as always! :))

No flashes what so ever! I really only turn them on when I need them. The stock headlights are quite decent (atleast in comparison to the 90s Japanese cars were used to lol). But I definitely highly recommend aftermarket fogs as a easy aftermarket upgrade!! :)
Great video! I was wondering whether you ended up securing the foglight with two or only one screw? Was there any need to file out the holes in the mounting bracket if you installed using two screws. This was demonstrated on another install video.
Glad you enjoyed the video! It turned out to only require two screws on the outer edge of the fog light (the two stock screws) and the inner side of the bracket slid in snuggly to the existing holes. No filing or major modification needed. Was more frustrating digging my arms behind the fender liner than actually bolting in the new fogs! Lol Hope this helps. Let us know if you have any other questions :))
@@Corteezy Thanks for getting back. I noticed on another person's posting that they would turn the wheel inward and use a bungee cord to hold the liner back by attaching it to the UCA. I don't know if that would of helped. Funny thing: I bought a pair of SS3 amber sport fogs on Black Friday, but my '21 TRD off road 4rnr purchase was delayed, so I have to wait 3-4 weeks for another one to drop. (I'm in AZ and my brother, a wholesaler, is getting one for me at invoice in Colorado.) I guess I'll just admire my fogs. 🤣
Bungee cord is a good idea! Or even just taking off the whole front bumper. But it was rainy and gross out so we didn’t want to deal with all that haha Well, having the fogs already will just make it so much sweeter when the truck arrives! Can’t wait for you to get it. It’ll be rad :D And thanks for the subscribe! Means a lot. Hope you can enjoy our content! We’re posting every day until Christmas so stay tuned! :))
Lmao. Surprisingly not as many as I expected. Although I really only turn them on in deep fog or in the mountains as blind corner driving lights. And in storms people love to get behind me and let me lead the pack because I light up the whole road for them. Quite satisfying actually haha. But I can’t say I haven’t had my fair share of flashes already telling me to turn them off. Lol! Thanks for the support y’all :))
Thanks for the video, I watched a lot of videos before installing my SS3's and you did the best job explaining everything, thanks again.

Nice! Did these have the optional "Amber backlight" or no?
Did you have a small gap between the fog light and the plastic cover that’s attached to the bumper?

@@Corteezy They're rad, but I do love the look of the baja/diode style fogs!
I tried to switch out the bulb with a 3 way on my 2021 runner pro but noticed it's a sealed led fog light. You can't change just the bulb.
Did you have any gaps? For some reason it didn’t fit well so i gave gaps
What’s the stock output again compared to the DDs?
Just received mine! Can't wait to throw them in!

Do the 2021 come with led headlights? I ordered these for my 2020
they do
Yo man, you got a front Skid Plate, that’s awesome I like it
Pretty slick eh? This is only the beginning too :PP
Great walkthrough on the install. Any tips for getting the bucket / cover thing back on on the passenger side? That's the only part I'm worried about.

The 2021runner fog lights are a sealed system. Very bright and are projected. I have a set for sale for $300.US.

@@T4rJ if I remember right, you need to pull the housing as far back inside the bracket, that way you have more play for adjustment.
