This show is the most heartbreaking, entertaining and fun-loving piece of television that I’ve ever watched. I had to make a tribute for it! (Sorry for the pain)
I really like the second chorus (3:51)better but that might be because that’s the first part I edited, oh well! Hope you guys enjoy!

Jack's death has to be one of the most shocking and heart wrenching moments in the history of TV

Yeah man, for a second I felt safe that he survived that incident, just like Rebecca I was utterly shocked, tears flowing like rivers 😭😭
His death was "necessary" (for lack of a better word) to send the kids on their journey to become the people they are today and whose lives we are watching now... And the fact that it was as heartbreaking as it was dumb (he survives a huge fire, only to be killed hours later by something as "simple" as a heart attack) makes us understand better what his family was/is going through.
@@MarilynRoseYT doesn't compare. I love GA, but it's different when the one that dies is a husband and a father whose entire life you see through flashbacks. I cried for Derek, but not as much as I have for Jack.

My god it hurts so much worse when you've done the same with your own dad. Such a simple mistake to think that there will be a tomorrow.

@@Kboss66 That would hurt. I‘be been through a lot with my parents, and they’ve hurt me accidentally in big ways but they care about me and are so sorry and want to do their best to fix the damage they’ve done. I’m going to try my best to show my appreciation for that

Saddest part: Kevin never knew that his favorite person in the world wrote a letter to him, just a few hours before he died. Not fair!!! Yes, sometimes life is unfair, but still, you gotta move on.
I sobbed reading that letter, it could've changed everything for Kevin...

Simple Jack
My heart ripped in two. I have watched this show faithfully since the night it first aired. Although we knew Jack passed away, we did not know when or how. I thought I was mentally prepared ahead of time. However, I was completely, utterly wrong. I felt a tremendous loss over Jack’s death. A gut wrenching loss. Not only did I feel the pain, I felt the pain for his family. The lyrics to this song complements the story of Jack, who built the house “for me, for you.” But now it is time for him to go, to return to dust. I cannot tell you how many times I have cried.
To the editor, Gabi, you did a terrific job on this montage, encapsulating the little bit of time we got to know the Pearson family.
I definitely think this was the most painful TV death I've ever been through!

Sarah Mitchell I didn't even know about the show until yesterday when I had seen an ad about it. I found a clip in the ad with a fire and I was hooked. I just needed to know what happened. I looked up the video showing his death and I started crying when they all started screaming for Jack outside the house. I came to this video and I saw all their special moments. This just made me so emotional and this is a great example of how much a family is built together. Families are like life. You have a life and then you lose it. It kills other members of that family to lose a special person. I can't stop crying.

In that episode, there’s a transition similar to that. I caught it, and as soon as I did, my heart broke into a million pieces. One of the most painful character deaths for sure
I can't express how much I appreciate Randal's character. The way he holds Rebecca, so she doesn't run into the burning house. He always had so much going on in his life and he always was strong for his family.

This show.... after losing my dad, then my brother, I can say the reactions to grief are so so real. The screaming, the breaking down, the fact that it stays with you forever. Beautiful video
Losing a father hurts so much that u will never be the same and always wonder what if he had lived, my life would be so different, I lost my dad when I was 14, I'm now 37 and it still hurts everyday and I think I miss him more now than ever, this show has really hit home for me and absolutely adore this is us, and will be sad when it ends
This show made me believe that grieve is something you can't outgrow. It's all the emotions ball up for the person you miss and those memories keep them alive. I lost my mom 7 years ago and still speak to her in my dreams. I can still hear her laugh and calling my name. Still feels like it was yesterday.
Yeah I've only had 2 dreams of my dad. One of him saving me from drowning and the other of him angry with me sitting at a picnic table with me. It was a concerned angry. All he said was stop being so angry. That was it. Miss him everyday
I have no idea what it is. This show makes me feel REAL feelings as if I was a part of the family. I cried, a lot. I laughed, a lot. And it opened something in me, I never knew existed. I haven't figured out what it is yet. But this show did something with me.

I'm speechless... this is one of the most amazing, well made fanvids I have seen for this show, this song breaks my heart every time especially after it was played on the actual show, but to have the pearson's story told through this song and watching them losing their father (who was their actual home) and struggling to move on from what happened- I'm shook.
Your editing and scene choice are absolutely fanatastic, you've captured all the right feelings the show always makes me feel and you've managed to focus on each character's journey in such a beautifully heartbraking way, from kate's scream to kevin's breakdown and Randall's words at the beginning of the video that he couldn't see himself living longer than his dad and than actually seeing him reaching that point in his life... this video hit all the right spots, I know that I said thay already but you did such an amazinh job with this one!

This series has impact me on some level of my life. I can't even described that in my writing or even words.
The show revisited To Build A Home on the third from the last episode tonight, showing the home built for Rebecca and the care and love of her family. They really fulfilled their promise to Jack. They’re going to be okay.

I recently discovered this show, and once I started watching it, I couldn’t stop. Almost every episode has at least some tears, and/or I burst out laughing. But Jack’s death is absolutely the worst ever on television history, bar none. This show is such top-notch quality And fantastic writing, and plots. I don’t know who exactly was responsible for all of this, but it’s an incredible show. So beautiful.

I don't really know why, but I started missing This Is Us and just found this video. Wow. I couldn't really believe they chose this song for that specific scene, they broke my heart even more. And now this edit? It's honestly so beautiful. I know it must have taken a while to edit because you did an amazing job fitting all the parts together, so I really think all the work paid off. This hits so close to home...My dad has been gone for 20 years too. "We lost him" After being told by one of the doctors at hospice that he was doing well enough to the point he'd be going home...We instead got the call to drop everything and get there before it's too late...My mom got there in time...I did not...Nothing puts that day to rest, I've been ripped apart ever since. When Kate SCREAMS...So REAL! This show, That song...what a perfect pairing.
Christopher Hampl my mom screamed over and over when my brother passed away. It’s so real. We all just collapsed. when my dad died, we all collapsed. It’s so true and real the reactions in this show... it’s painful and so well done. I’m so sorry for your loss.

This was absolutely incredible. The song fits the Pearson’s so well as Jack was quite literally “their home” but showing the home and Jack and the ebbs/ flows of they family. You did such a great job.
He was a good man, always finally admitting his wrongs and doing his best to return to the good in him, but he wasn't a superdad. Just was what a dad is supposed to be. We should expect this in our dads.

I know this is a little unrelated to your beautifully edited video, but can we just remember for a second how FLAWLESSLY they did the episode where Randall says he wants to adopt a boy, and throughout the episode we see a little boy who's beeing told they've found the perfect family for, and that Tess says she like being a foster family... Wow.. it was beatiful!!!
This is such a beautiful show.....this show essentially expands upon nearly a century of storytelling upon one family. We have gone back as far as 1949, the birth year of Nicky, and seeing a man who was born in the 1800s (Jack’s granddad) to an unknown year in the future, possibly the 2030s or 2040s (Big 3 being in their 50s or 60s). Me being born the same year as the Big 3, coming into 2020, our 40th year....my friend, my close cousin...all born in 1980.....my parents married Valentine’s Day 1980....married for 32 years until my mom’s sudden passing.....the year This Is Us premiered, my sister lost her husband on her birthday.... Life is a whirlwind of emotions. I knew I would love TIU when I first saw the preview, the only cast members I knew at that time was Justin (been following his career since Passions) Milo (been following since Heroes, but knew his name before that) and of course Mandy. I knew that even though she has a great voice, acting would be where her career would blossom...and I was right. This has been a great show...and this video captures just some of the beautiful moments shared on this show. Spectacular job showcasing those moments in life so well. Even in the 4th season, seeing the beginnings of Jack and Rebecca’s story, knowing how it ends, but enjoying the ride getting there. That first 10 years without Jack definitely was hard and imagining that Randall and Rebecca powered through that time together, until she reconnected with Miguel....and now we have to see Rebecca get older and lose what connects us all with each other, our memories...to those who may watch this show in the future, in the 2020s, 2030s 2040s and beyond. This show, is proof that good series still exist.

Ok, I've been going through a lot these last couple months but not one single tear has been shedded. I did the best I could to stay strong until earlier this evening when I watched this episode... I cried and cried until I could no longer easily breath.

I used to watch this with my mom, I thought it was dramatic and stupid. Now that I’m older, I can’t imagine how some people feel, watching their home and love fade away. Burnt to ashes. Kids, don’t take everything for granted. Especially your family. Tell them you love them everyday, because one day..there may not be a tomorrow to thank them.

In the beginning I never wanted to watch this but once I did I got hooked to it. The story of this family was so beautiful. When the house started to burn and they played this song it fit this series and that episode so much. I cried and I screamed cause it was so heartbreaking that its even making me cry just typing this. I don't think anything has made me cry so much as this show did. I found this song a long time ago while going through the hardest time of my life. When I heard it in the show I broke down sobbing, not only because the episode was devastating but because it brought me back to that time. Such a beautiful show, I have never loved a tv show more than I loved this one.

I noticed that in here we see Jack and Rebecca's wedding which is at the town hall not at the country club as her father described. That leads me to believe that Rebecca's relationship with her father is pretty much over once she decided to be with Jack. How very sad. This was beautifully done. Thanks for sharing.
Of course doing this scene they had to play such a sad song . I have never watched a tv show that i cried so much at like every until this show . All of the actors on this show are way too good
