Thank you so much for your video!!! This video helped me fix my wife's car and getting rid of the check engine light. By the way, when the belt fell off/got lost, the power steering and engine cooler stopped working. I guess they are dependent to each other, because after I replaced the alternator belt everything worked fine. P.S.: I don't know if the previous car owner replaced the lower bolt, but it's 13mm instead of 12mm (2006 Hyundai Elantra LT if that matters).
My 03 Elantra runs but the Alternator is loose and idk how to tighten it I’ve tried wrenching the tensioner do I have to take the back bolt off the alternator
What is the pulley called that the serpentine belt runs on? The top one? Everytime we start the car the belt immediately slides to the right and we cant figure out why

+Cari Page You can remove the belt and try to spin the pullys by hand. Other wise try to do your best and listen to hear if the power steering pump, A/C compressor or Alternator are noisy. Of course be very careful of moving and spining parts.
Do you have a video that shows how to remove the battery and altenator for this car? I bought it used and the previous owner thinks the altentor went up but I think its just the battery.
Yes, it is necessary to loosen the bolts on the alternator as it needs to be pushed forward and out of place in order to remove the belt. Hope this helps you out! +Eddy Martin
At this moment, the closest how-to video we have to your request is for this vehicle, which is very similar to the one you have. The steps may not be 100% the same, but should contain an adequate amount of information necessary for accomplishing this task: +john laredo
This would be called a serpentine belt for hyundai elantra right? Not an alternator belt? I can't find alternator belts for sale, they all say serpentine.
+Jared Zarate Yeah, the terms are often used interchangeably. It's a serpentine belt, but more specifically, it's an alternator belt because that's what it drives. It looks identical to the 2000 Hyundai Tiburon. Is it? I need to replace the same belt and it looks like I'm going to have to go underneath

Have a problem that my new belt is to small I don’t know if it’s the wrong one or I just need more space but no matter what I do it won’t slip on
Just in time. Thank you!!
Thank you.
That was helpful. Thank you.
Any suggestions for figuring out which one of my pulleys is dying? None have any play, they all seem to run fine, but one is making horrid noises.

If the belt already came off should I still loosen the alternator

Test the battery duh
Are the belts omnidirectional?
So the belt goes around three point right?
Thx 😎
