Award-winning media personality, Bonang Matheba speaks to CNBC Africa’s Gugulethu Mfuphi about her entrepreneurial journey at the FORBES AFRICA Under 30 Meet-Up.
This interview may have not been smooth sailing, however Bonang still powered through, she didn't give up or fall to pieces, as uncomfortable as she was, she answered the best she could. Which speaks to her character and why she is successful, she doesn't give up just Becoz something's difficult (she worked around it). Bonang is a hustler entrepreneur (self made) not a textbook entrepreneur and the interviewer was coming at her with textbook questions. Bonang didn't learn how to be a business woman from a textbook, she is self taught, that's the only reason why the terminology was a bit challenging. Otherwise she still imparted invaluable tips. It’s very disheartening to see so many negative comments below, if we all took a moment to not be so critical in seeking perfection from people we would all take away something from this sit down.
she wasnt okay same. its like she wanted to cry. she was very emotional and not there. i think it wasnt the questions that she didnt understand but its like she was going through something emotional. I love her very much though ❤
This lady she's intelligent well educated; I love seeing such ladies. Bonang she's good!! Love her❤❤ due to her successful career. She will meet powerful women as well. So just be yourself as usual Bonang
The interviewer kept asking 3 questions in one sentence 😫! The interview questions were quite lengthy making it very hard to respond to .. the interviewer should have kept it simple with clear worded questions and clear meaning.
i think the interviewer should have simplified the questions she was asking in a self explanatory understanding kinda way . The questions were unnecessarily complicated and she talks too fast
Gugu is such an excellent moderator, she carried that conversation and did her best to invite a despondent Matheba to the conversation, but it just wasn't working 😢. Gugu is phenomenal!
I think the interviewer did a great job. Bonang was simply not up to the challenge on this occasion. She's not a businesswomen, she's a celebrity - there is a BIG difference. She lacks fundamental business acumen. The businesspeople monetize celebrities.

Bonang is just used to interviews where she already knows what she'll be asked, so she's not used to thinking on the spot and responding to what she's asked cause she already has her answers ready. And this interviewer is doing a terrible job, talks to fast and to many questions at once.
Probably preparation was not enough for her but despite it all she did a great job, come on they could have just placed a glass of water ,some wipes . ..imagine inviting a mentor with a brand like Mogherl diseo dilo tseo ,however the most important thing is the messages from mogherl akere! re morata gore.
This interview Bonang wasn’t in her element and I can’t even blame the person interviewing ... it was just that... and it was so bad to the extent where B was reaching out for advice she has always given. Not that bad but def not her best ...maybe it was just an off day
