Love your review. I have a Libra and have for a year with no problems but since I purchased a La marzocco micra likes yours , the Libra does not like the portafilter and no matter what I it only grinds for two seconds and stops. Any suggestions much appreciated
Nice review. I received my La Marzocco Micra and Eureka Mignon Libra last week. I have yet to bypass the FH error - 0g of coffee ground so far. I am using the Micra's portafilter with double-spout attachment as you do in the video. I have gone through the calibration process multiple times. It refuses to accept it. Very frustrating.
Thanks for the vid. One issue: should always use the funnel that comes with this unit as this is very helpful to reduce the grinding spray on the unit and table. NOTA: This machine does have issue with measuring if the portafilter isn't balanced on the scale / cradle. An "FH" will appear on display if PF is not level on it. This means "Filter Holder" and you have to take the PF out the cradle and wait 5 secs and then place back in and hit the grind level on the display. It's finicky but I hate measuring out so this is easy but temperamental grinder.
Just purchased through I drink coffee along with a Micra. Question, to adjust the grind setting do you have the machine grinding while you turn the knob?
Hi @JasonCummins-ks9jf, thank you for your interest in our Mignon Libra. To adjust its grind setting toward the “fine” end, the machine must be grinding to prevent blockages. This is because as you go finer, the burrs go nearer each other and, if the motor is not on, coffee beans may remain trapped inside the small place between the burrs. On the other hand, to adjust the grind setting toward the “coarse” end, the machine can be off. Greetings from Florence! Eureka
Hi, I would not recommend this grinder for other types of the grinding. The forks are designed to fit a portafilter and grind for espresso. If you are looking for a more all around grinder there are other choices like the Mahlkonig X54.
Thank you! On my side, I hope a next version of this mill with the 65mm burrs, there I crack even if the 55mm are good performances. Ha… the Linea Micra!!!❤
@@iDrinkCoffeeCanada Thank you for your answer. Since I'm not interested in the speed, only in the cup result, do you think there is a real gain in cup with the 65mm burrs rather than the 55mm burrs from eureka? this question because obviously the price is not the same (I only drink espresso from a Rocket Appartamento)
Hi, I have a Linea Micra. I’m looking for a new grinder. Does the Libra work okay with the Linea Micra portafilter without the plastic double spout attached? I prefer to use a bottomless portafilter. Thank you.
Ah this is awesome, my only concern with some of the higher-priced Eurekas is that the base is basically the same as the cheapest Crono (the motor, the burrs) for around $300 and then you're paying $700+ for features like quieter grinding and grind by weight, which means that the outcome (grind quality and consistency) will be pretty much the same. Would love to see this feature on their "upgraded" matching with larger burrs like Stark.
I got the middle range with the Silenzio and its amazing! I dont regret it at all as the higher are really pricey for the same product but with digital screen. However, the fact that the grinder settings won’t be lose after dissembling for cleaning is quite useful 😅
@@reyavalon Hi, no this is a home grinder so it is not designed for heavy usage. If you are looking for a commercial grinder with grind by weight I would suggest checking out the Mahlkonig E65s GBW or the E80 GBW.
You could design a hopper with an airtight lid, but air will still get in from underneath through the shute, so I am not sure how beneficial it will be.

I think this is all related. In Italian the word pound is Libbra but they chose the English spelling. The 7th astrological sign Libra is Bilancia in Italian; that translates to balance which is another word for scale.

100% agree with using the funnel; I also found FH errors less common since I started using the Libra funnel.

Hi. Did I hear you say that they might be bring out a Libra with a large burr size?
I have a Profitec Pro 400 and from what I read I cannot use a Naked Portafilter because it just don’t fit. Any thoughts?
Hello, I want to use a dosing cup ? Is there any suitable cup for the libra ? Or it just for a single dose grinder ? Please elaborate with a link 🎉
Besides grinding for espresso coffee, does it provide, on the other end of the scale, a coarse enough grindfing for a "moka" type coffee brewer?

There will be one later this spring with 65mm burrs.
@@iDrinkCoffeeCanada which product line?
@@paul_vlad It will be part of the Eureka Oro line, I don't have full details yet but it's coming.

@@iDrinkCoffeeCanadaSpring is already over and its summer now. Where did you get that information? Is there a new updated ETA?
Does not it support dosing cup like other grinder ?
This grinder is designed to grind directly into a portafilter.
What’s your setting for espresso?

Yes, you can adjust the height of the portafilter to fit the bottomless. I do really like the pairing.
You didn’t even drink it but you said, “amazing”. 😂

The only improvement that I was waiting is to have a tight air hopper for my EM specialita
That's a good idea, I'll make this suggestion to Eureka.

can you use this with a porta filter funnel?
Eureka has a portafilter funnel that is specifically designed for the Libra which we will have in stock in a few weeks.
Can it be used commercially or is it for home only? I currently have a fiorenzato SR64OD EVO but it is poor!

how is the retention?
The retention on the Mignon series is quite low, I would say a gram or less.
Americano vs long black... it's a topic for a whole different video.
Libra means pound in Spanish and probably in Italian too . I don't think It's because of the astrological signs 🤷♂️.

@@iDrinkCoffeeCanada interesting
They def wanted to focus on the scale part of this and we aren't dosing a lbs of coffee into extractions.
