I believe this is the timeline that Ina managed to control/suppress the eldrich being that possessed her after she read the eldrich book. As any other time line where she lost and the eldrich being took control ended the same as it did in the fan animation. Watson’s purpose was to creat the time loops until eventually the good end could happen … or that is my understanding of it ❤
According to the original creator, when people asked if he would make a sequel good ending, he said no. Mostly because we are currently living the good timeline where they all become friends and join Hololive, keeping Ina happy and her control over the Ancient One in check.
Also, there's also Sana existing in this timeline, as she shares the Ancient ones burden, so Ina doesn't loose control. Also also, you can see Council logos, and Sana's glitching
I think narratively it's really beautiful, the realization Ame has after she hears the recording. She know that that past ame pulled the film out, resetting the timeline as well, otherwise she wouldn't have been able to come back to listen to it. Briefly in the clouds you can see irys for a couple of frames, descending after the timeline resets, suggesting that irys joining council and forming promise was the thing that fixed the timeline, giving hope and resolving whatever it was that made the ancient ones take over ina.
I've always liked the detail that 'ghost Ina' has tentacle hair and pointed ears because she's still in the creature's thrall, but when she's standing in the rain with Gura she has human ears and hair.
It’s also funny that for the longest time, Ina constantly said that she’s the only human (Ame being “British” doesn’t count) but, around the same time this came out, Ina dropped pretense about herself. Which might be an indication that she’s accepted the mythical part of herself in our good timeline and isn’t rejecting the ancient ones within her. The myth doesn’t have humans anymore, since Ame being a multiversal time lord really changes her status, thus the first generation lives up to their namesake. Also, can’t wait for Mazo to do part 2. The trailer brings in the council pre-promise era, so it will be interesting what his lore will be continuing from Myth’s Bad Ending.
She restarted the timeline because even if there's only a tiny chance that in this new timeline everyone can be saved it's better than no chance in the old one. Yes that movie was the length of the entire universe, equal to 13.8 billion years in seconds. Ina is human but she's a priestess of AO (the Ancient One) and she kind of keeps his powers in check, keeping him from destroying the world, but if she were to loose control... Kronii is the warden of time with essentially unlimited control over time, Ame who is a detective from the future, stole that pocket watch from Kronii which allows her to time travel and used it to come back in to to "Investigate" these mythical beings. (perhaps to figure out which one of them causes a great disaster and advert it.) In the "Theater Room" the symbols of the council can be seen on the wall, all godlike beings. The symbol for space is fluctuating because the warden of space has gone far away (at least for the time being). In the scene were time is reversing and it zooms out in the rain through the sky you can see a white object, that's the symbol of IRyS, representing hope.
Some of the character lore, so you can appreciate the animation that much more: Calliope Mori, #1 apprentice to the Grim Reaper and ruthless taker of souls…who’s currently on hiatus from teaping in order to follow her passion of being a rap star. Kiara Takanashi, an immortal phoenix who has lived many lives and gone on many adventures. This life’s adventure? Running a fried chicken fast food chain called KFP, and singing and dancing on the side while she tries to make the business boom. Ina’nis Ninomae, a young girl who became high priestess of The Ancient One when she picked up his tome. She’s more interested in painting and playing games with her Takodachi minions than taking over the world, though. Gawr Gura, a daughter of Atlantis that grew bored with the deep ocean and came to the surface for fun new experiences (some fanlore speculates that she is the last daughter of Atlantis). Amelia Watson, the detective who heard of all sorts of odd entities like elves and demons and girls with animal trails in this organization called “hololive”, and infiltrated the organization to investigate…only to get caught up in the fun of being a streamer. Fans later added the idea that her pocket watch is a time travel device, and Ame liked it enough to make it semi-official. The Theater at the end has a series of holograph emblems above the projector box. Each one represents the members of Hololive English Gen 1.5 (diamonds for IRyS) and Gen 2 (game die for Baelz Hakos, plant for Fauna Ceres, hourglass for Kronii Ouro, feather for Nanashi Mumei, and a glitched-out Saturn representing Tsukumo Sana, who had retired from Hololive before the animation was finished). These two groups are supernatural beings representing forces of the universe.
Now it was a long time ago but didn’t ame show the watch has her time travel device in her debut? 🤔 I don’t remember to much as she drugged me with her Watson concoction half way through 🤣
And there have been little lore seeds planting Irys into the backstories of the Myth characters (for example, she is the one who whispers to Gura and nudges her to join Hololive in her lore video) effectively making this story canon but from a prior timeline that a little lucky meddling from Hope finally prevented.
i have seen every single reaction to this animation, and im happy to add yours to the list i love this animation so much and im glad its still getting attention
1:41 Well... it is a Life and Death situation. Well... an eternal rebirth and reaper situation, at least. 3:04 The person you are trying to reach is currently unavailable. It is an In-Vestie-Gator. 14:22 HIRyS! Blink and you'll miss it.
As a huge fan of Myth - mmmmaybe Ame especially? - the thing that is most overlooked in this animation is the very end. Game Over >Retry* >Quit That's the AME WAY!
11:39 Amelia's name for her fandom is "the investigators" and they're little alligators with detective hats. The significance in this scene is mainly to indicate that both phones have the same bobble so it's indeed one of the previous Amelia's phone and recording.
It's the lore Inna is a priestess of the great old ones basically the all powerful gods from Lovecraft mythos so she's been fully taken over by one of these ancient evil deities who gave her her powers when she read the book and became their priest
Fun fact, several of the abilities shown in this animation were then reused in the horde survival fan game Holocure: Save the fans. Honestly, there are so many fun facts here, for example, the animation came out episodically and went through many iterations in the making. The first complete version I saw didn't have the 5 symbols of gen 2 Holo council in the theater. Another version I saw in someone else's video didn't have the symbol for Sana(who graduated) flickering. Also the time on the youtube video playing on the screen when put into years is about the estimated age of the universe. So much good stuff.
And remember... Theres a reason why there are so many Ame's on the floor.. she keeps watch of the Situation and Always sacrifices herself to prevent this From Happening... Time and again she is Always the Last one to realised there is truly no Hope other than erasing this Moment From reality
Not so Fun Fact : Mazumaru planned to make Amelia's death brutal. When she ruin the tape, she suppose to get burned alive and in agony while remembering her friends then she die. Thank fully, Mazu didn't use that idea.
Lore wise, only the basic stuff if anyone doesn't know who is what or wtf is happening. Ina is possesed by an other-universal god (Cthulhu style). Ame is the time traveler. Calli (a Grim Reaper). Kiara (the Phoenix). Gura (Last Atlantean). The trident contains all of Gura's "negative" emotions from being the last Atlantean. Gura is normally blue, so the hair color change is when she accepts using her "red" side which is a much better fighter since Gura is more complete. Ame time travels to "the end" outside of normal time, and discovers that this has happened before. Even though it would kill her, Ame decides to forcibly rewind the universe, so they can try again. When the universe rewinds, you can see the symbol for Irys (Avatar of Hope) flying thru the sky. Then we (the viewer) are supposed to be currently living in the "good end" since everything is great now.
George (Red Gura) is definitely more primal, and more feral while being less civil. Ame did not rewind time, though. Rewinding would just get us back to this same point. Ame was able to stop all universal time to reach the theater, but just rewinding (as the recording mentions) wont help as time to that point was already written. Ame, as the other Ames apparently did, DESTROYED part of recent time so it could be rewritten and, hopefully, changed for the better. She tried, and tried, and tried again until we get the "good ending". Truly the Ame way. In my opinion, the film had no choice but to restart because the last portion was destroyed. Most of that film would just replay as before until it got to the burnt out portion.
this entire animation was 3d including the character models. my theory is that the previous ames only rewound to before ina lost control but this ame rewound the entire universe.
Actually I think the fact that they all had burnt film on their hands that they ALL rewound everything back to zero. Remember, her past self said "Another Kiara, Another Cali, Another Gura (and note her hand twitched on this one), Another Ina". This implies that her rewinding would just perpetuate the bad endings, and that in the other timelines it was another of Myth that lost control and caused Ame to have to go to the End Realm and rewind time again. This was just the time Ina lost control.
there is an amaziiing break down video of this whole animation i'd highly recommend checking out on stream or in your own time~ It's by schnee and titled "Myth's Bad Ending" is a MASTERPIECE【Hololive】

Ame stole the clock from Kronii, Kronii's lore is finding a certain detective who stole the clock and imprison her. Kronii is the "warden" of time
"there is always Hope" you are right, ya see Hope (irys) fly in the clouds when time reversed.
I've always liked the detail that 'ghost Ina' has tentacle hair and pointed ears because she's still in the creature's thrall, but when she's standing in the rain with Gura she has human ears and hair.
