Very Nice! I am a musician of over 45 years. I started with the lady down the street from me who gave piano lessons to anyone who wanted to learn. The cost was $3.00 a lesson. I continued my music studies through college. I now live in a rural area of North Carolina of which I have not met ONE young musician, mainly in the churches, who even knows what a scale is. That means, when I tell them what "key" a song is in, and then tell them that I am running a certain progression, it separates the musicians from the true musicians. I have led many musicians to websites like this and told them to start from the bottom UP, and learn what music is. I wish this kind of stuff had been available for me back in the day. Oh yeah, with all the knowledge and performing that I have done, I am practicing this lesson. God has Blessed you, and you are sharing your Blessing with us. What else can I say.

Finally! A lesson from KC that I can play right off the bat. I went to the keyboard and got through C on my first try. I then tried A flat, and though a little slower, I pretty much got it on the first try, and it was fun, and felt good under my fingers. I'm sure this little exercise will be a regular part of my practice routine for at least a few weeks until I have it down pat. We are hugely fortunate to talented, caring people who share their knowledge with fellow lovers of music. Thanks, KC!

Love from Lagos, KC. I just bumped into you some 45 minutes ago and I'm wondering where in God's world have I been! I guess I'd stop letting people call me a piano player for a bit. I'm starting over... Thanks also for the encouragement you give at the end of each video.

Really nice exercise that will help you remember the different major scales. It also makes for some cool voicings and improvisation. “I surrender all...” That has always been one of my favorite hymns. That reminds me, I love to sit down and just play from a hymnal I have. Very therapeutic.

If you really know your keys IN YOUR HANDS, then this should be relatively easy for you. But having an ACADEMIC understanding of music is INFERIOR to a TACTILE knowledge of the keys in this particular instance. The ONLY way to get a TACTILE knowledge is through the PRACTICE of certain musical components like scales and arpeggios(broken-up chords). In other words, until you form a fingering system(for EACH key) to play this exercise in, it WON'T be easy to play and you'll be hitting and missing AT BEST. So let's get started everybody!!!! I LOVE a good challenge and it's waaaaaay past the date for me to get any free stuff. But I'm STILL really pumped up to learn this. HaHa!!

Something that might help others as they practice this, is to first run the exercise chromatically, to learn the 12 hand positions, so to speak, with which all the scales will be built. It reduces the problem. First run through the triad position chromatically; then add the inner third, while still running through the scales chromatically; then build the scales with the now-familiar sounds and hand positions.
    These are riveting sounds.

I don't know where to start with my comments, not just about this video but about KC. I am well aware that words will never be able to articulate my innermost feelings about you as a person and about everything you do. The internet is a global market place where it's really hard to find well-meaning people. There are thousands who simply want to sell their wares. One thing I want to say is that I have been watching you for sometime and the amount of content you simply give away is completely against the grain. Someone else in your shoes will be selling it for big money. But not only that. There is a GRACE about how you do things. I can't articulate it (as I thought I'd struggle to) but God knows. All I can say is that you are my answer to years of prayer. Believe it or not. God will send certain your way to fulfil His Will concerning your life. In my case, the day I saw the first video of you, I praised God all day long. I have bought out the whole of your videos and the amount of free stuff on your website is unbelievable. I may not know many things, but one thing I know is that having all the learning resources is useless without the HUNGER to be the best I can be. It has taken me over 20yrs to realize this. But I'm here now. I'm ready. It's time to be that which the Lord has purposed for my life. I pray one day I will have the opportunity to further talk to you. @dmlkeys

TODAY IS APRIL 20 2016 AND I JUST GOT TO WATCH THIS VIDEO AND I AM NOT BAFFLED SO I HAVE DECIDED TO LEARN NOT JUST TO WIN THE PRIZE BUT FOR MY OWN PERSONAL MUSICAL ABILITY. I TAUGHT MYSELF WITH THE GRACE OF GOD TO PLAY AND MOST KEYBOARD PLAYERS TELL ME I AM A ONE PEICE BAND BY MYSELF. I GOT OVER 200 SONGS COPYRIGHTED IN THE LIBRARY OF CONGRESS AND I SING AND PLAY AT THE SAME TIME. I WOULD LIKE TO ADVANCE MY PLAYING ABILITY TO THE NEXT LEVEL OF PLAYING . I PLAY BY EAR AND READ SHEET MUSIC, KNOW THE SCALES AND THE CYCLE OF FIFTHS, ETC. I ALSO DELVE IN PLAYING THE ORGAN (HAMMOND B3) WHICH IS MY FAVORITE INSTRUMENT. I AM ALSO TRYNG TO LEARN THE ACOUSTIC GUITAR AND THE BASS GUITAR AND THE HARMONICA. I AM PLANNING ON AUDITIONING FOR THE 2017 VOICE SEASON. HOPEFULLY I WILL GET IN AND IF I DO I CAN TRULY SAY THESE YOUNG FOLKS ARE GOING TO HAVE TO REALLY SING THEIR SOUL OUT BECAUSE I AM GOING TO GIVE THEM COMPETITION. I AM 64 AND TOOK LESSONS FROM ARETHA FRANKLIN; ELLA FITZGERALD ; DINAH WASHINGTON PLUS GOD GAVE ME THIS VOICE AND I AIM TO USE EVEN IF I DONOT WIN I STILL WONT BE A LOSER. I GOT TO FULFILL MY DREAM ON STAGE. BUT I THANK YOU FOR THIS LESSON I AM OFF TO THE KEYBOARD. GOD BLESS YOU.

Kevin, the way you teach online is easy to follow. Although English is not my mother tongue, but it can be learned... it's not the barrier.
Basically, I am a bass player and started playing piano since 2007(self-taught) just because our piano player was left the church and there is no one else playing piano in my church anymore. I'm not a pro like you or any other player in many churches but at least I understand the very very basic chord used to play piano especially for my church ministry.
Recently, I thinking to upgrade my piano skill through the formal lesson whether it's an online source or just a video media bundle. I want to be able at least to master the jazz basic chords lol lol lol.
I saw your web page anyway... could you please recommend which bundle fit for me to make a started?
    Thank's
