For me it was Sophmore year. Ive been bullied through my whole life and i finally started pushing back on the bullying. That same year i found out i was on my way to being diabetic as well. At the end of that year after all the pushing back and weight loss journey. I lost 30 pounds in 6 months: finally started making friends and discovering who i really am.
Sophomore year! First semester, I had a math teacher who jumped up on the desk in the middle of a lesson and played peak a boo with us, she also stopped mid lesson another time to give us the breakdown of all our breaks and if we went to her after school for help, she taught it the same way and yelled in our face so close we got spit on us and told us we were stupid ( I tried to get her fired but couldn't "because she had tenure")🙄 And second semester, I caught swine flu, was out for 2 weeks and almost 💀 It was a great year!
Hold up. I had a similar teacher. She was tall - approx 6' 7" maybe it's the heals, about in her late 50s - early 60s. Speaks with a stern and intimidating voice but classy appearance. She would randomly climb on her desk and read or speak to the room. Every one's afraid of her. She even stop some thug kids from acting out on the bus one time. There's history between her and the school. But in the end, I learned a lot from her and so did some of the other kids as well when talked about her lol.
Freshman year. One occasion was unwanted groping by a boy I wasn't even friends with who'd pushed me up against the lockers to grab my chest. He got reported and got a "talking to" at the guidance counselor's office. On another occasion, a boy sitting behind me in science class decided to throw tiny pieces of chewed gum into my hair. I had to have one of my friends cut all the tiny pieces of gum out of my hair, then go to the hairdresser after school to try to get it fixed. We had gone to the VPs office to report him after it happened. The next day when he tried to do that again with spit wads, I put my hoodie up to protect my hair. The teacher who's class it was had a TA at the time, who was sitting/observing in the row next to mine. When the TA saw what happened, the boy got busted after class.
For me it was middle school because I lost all my grade school friends because they went to different districts. Highschool was different because I finally met cool kids that I actually got along with and we’re still friends till this day
Junior year, went through a rough on and off again relationship/break up and didn't really feel like I really belonged into any clicks or communities and had early imposter syndrome
The school system is diferent where I live. Elementary school is till you're 11/12. Then you have middle school split up depending your learning skils. Middle school can be 4 years, 5 years or 6 years. And after that you can go to a school or university (depending on your level) that's more aimed in a certain direction of profession. Imo middle school was the worst. I had friends here and there but never really belonged to a group. My real friends were in other schools.
I had hell week before I even started my freshman year for football so by the time I started my first day I was already familiarized with some of the staff ( teachers and faculty in general) and upper class men.
New JK drinking game: take a shot every time Minh adjusts his hat. For myself, the first year was the worst. In grade 8, I moved into a new city and went to a new school. Grade 8 was also elementary school's final year, so everyone was already cliqued up. It was so hard trying to find a friend group. I found one but never felt like I belonged since they all grew up together. The hardest year was def the first year. Just the transition into high school, lack of a friend group, bullying, etc.
High school was ok I guess. Not anything spectacular other than having an existential crisis at 14, depression (which I didn't think was depression) at 18, and in retrospect probably a lot of signs I have ADHD lol. Academically, school wasn't my strongsuit and for a littlewhile during my freshman year I didn't have friends because I was new to he school district. And my parents made me join water polo which I hated but now I can tread water for a long time lol.
