Hi Prisila. Thank you for watching and the question. The terms are used interchangeably and refer to the same suturing technique.

Generally, muscle tissue itself is not routinely sutured. In some instances the overlying fascia may be sutured, as it is less likely to have the suture pull through the tissue.
