I just purchased one and will be putting it in soon. Having to change out the anode rod every 3-4 years is a pain and this solves the problem. I will still drain/flush my water heater tank once a year, but this makes things much easier to maintain.
Glad you like it!
@@1-Tom-Plumber Had my plumber put it in, after removal of the regular anode which did show some corrosion. Now at night I see that shining LED from it and I now have peace of mind !! LOL I will still drain and flush the tank at least once a year, but that bear of changing out the anode for at least 15-20 years makes me happy I will not have to do it for many years.
I use one at my house!
One major point that didn't seem explained clearly: the point of these rods is that since the galvanic activity happens through the small amount of electrical current in the water, the titanium is not sacrificed, or takes a very, very long time to be sacrificed. This means a very long period of time where your water heater tank is NOT being targeted by the galvanic action (compared to a regular anode rod, which only protects the tank until it is used up, which might be a few years).
Nice
Powered Anode lasts a "LifeTime" but water heater leaked 3 years later. Was told by plumber ONLY install on NEW water heaters !
Why would it matter if the water heater is new or a few years old?
@@TrendyStone I can't see how it would. Plumbers often repeat BS someone told them, just like anybody else does.
Plumber wants you to buy a new water heater from them so they tell you not to get one 🤣
