How do I add another computer to the list of computers I can potentially access? I know I can use support to login provided the other user is online to give me the access code. But what about if you just want to be able to access a machine remotely when you are away from home? I can't figure out how to add the computer to the list.
You will have to add the Chrome Remote Desktop extension to the Chrome Browser. On the new Computer ( chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/chrome-remote-desktop/gbchcmhmhahfdphkhkmpfmihenigjmpp?hl=en ) On the top right corner of the chrome browser you will see The Chrome Remote Icon. You will click on it Make sure you use the same Email to sign in. Once you are signed in you should see your Remote Devices and under that you will see "THIS DEVICE". cool! I "think" the password / pin - does not change - true? the old software would generate a one time unique pin that you would have to enter for each new session. (..this is very handy as i can help my older parents with their chromebook problems..without having to drive to their house!..)
I install Chrome remote desktop on my mac and my iPad and I can see my MacBook desktop on my iPad, but I don't have control just only see the desktop. What I am doing wrong?
It seems like this is a common issue, Try uninstalling chrome from your mac and installing again. There is a script called "org.chromium.chromoting.me2me.sh" that has to do with allowing access on the mac. In system preferences -> Secuirty & Privacy -> Accessibilty it has to exist and be checked to allow chrome remote desktop control over the mac. Find org.chromium.chromoting.me2me.sh in system preferences -> Secuirty & Privacy -> Accessibilty. uncheck and re-check again.
