I was the boy he mentioned in his lyrics Gypsy Eyes :You know little boy I could love you..." I will forget how kind and soft spoken he was. He wore his black hat and Paisley shirt with bell bottoms with rivets and boots. The Black Panthers put pressure on him about playing with Black artists which i thought was unfair to him, It was not his spirit to care about that issue loving all as people as he did not caring about race differences. Bill Graham, the promoter, head of the Fillmore West and East said to Jimi after he came off of stage after doing his tricks and showman routine said to him as he walked off stage, "You humped it, you bit it, you threw it around but you forgot to play." On the next set, Graham says Jimi stood in one place and played. Upon walking off stage Jimi said to Graham,, " Is that good enough for ya?" Of course, Graham was blown away and nodded. We all have to remember as of this moment in time Jimi Hendrix is the largest record selling Rock act in the entire world, and that is just records. Manhattan properties were CHEAP in 1970 and technically Hendrix could afford multiple studios after promotion and taxes very easily. Where the money actually went only Jeffrey knows. The story gets much worse with the fact Jeffrey made Hendrix go on the European tour despite protest from Jimi repeatedly. Redding was the one raising questions of where the money was according to Jimi from the beginning and got the Fat mattress deal. All financial roads at this particular moment in time lead back to Yameta, and a Bahamian off shore account in 1970 which was highly illegal at the time of 1970 for all the record labels involved. Jimi Hendrix as himself owned literally NOTHING as most purchases were put in the name of Yameta. How or why a less than 200,000 dollar property and probably more like 120,000 dollar studio needed more funding from record sales and previous concerts in 1970 for the worlds number one selling rock artist is the question nobody has any answer for.
