Now that's a true Maybach...not just a more luxurious S-class.....as it is today....has a character of its own without the Mercedes Benz Tristar and badging....

What do you mean? It was the same as an S class back then and it is now. The s class is a Tahoe and the Maybach is the Escalade.

Even a true maybach was just a more luxurious s-class. Just like a lexus is still just a toyota. You can't change who you are. But unlike with the toyota thing, with mercedes i have no problem. It's the greatest car brand ever !

He had NOTHING to do with the design. The manufacturer sent photos and samples and he probably accepted most of them as was the case with the colors. A baboon can grab one picture first with no understanding at all of what it represents. Hitler and Eichman had top of the line Mercedes cars too. The questions are: did the people have food, jobs, health or freedom? When the bureaucrats live lives of opulent wealth and splendor off of the sweat of the folks in the street, adjustments must and will be made. Denmark is a good example of humility in leadership, America and Russia, the opposite.
@@larrysorenson4789 no one said he designed the car. He picked the things he liked and they made it for him. He had classy taste. When you build a house you don’t design it, you get an architect and an interior designer to do it. But you still have to tell them what you like and don’t like. That’s commissioning the design.

This car is so odd and interesting that I could not avoid it. Imagine the drag that hood would crest if opened while driving. It’s like a sail. I frankly love the car. It’s exquisite. The seats appear to just cradle you so gently. The navigation system is the only thing that obviously dates it.

I would literally have all 3. Diamond white for the morning drives, two tone for a classy day time drive and the stealth black Maybach for the midnight cruise. Just need to do a little overtime at work as currently, I probably can only afford the tyres 😅

Did not know this model was a thing, but at only 8, I understand why. Holy shit they should've made more though! This is the ultimate coupe, literally the top of the list in terms of what a luxury coupe could offer. A coupe you can be driven in and drive yourself without starving yourself of any of it's amenities. Amazing!
I see these once and a while, living nearby to Beverly Hills and such. A Maybach version anyway, maybe not a million dollar one. I like when they have curtains in the back.

A very big missed opportunity that Daimler AG made in the early 2000s. Daimler AG should have added the coupé versions in the first place to compete with Rolls-Royce and its Phantom Coupé and Drophead Coupé.

I have driven both the 57 and the 62...... these are beyond luxurious, it floats like a butterfly, but handles like a Ferrari. Original autobahn luxury runner. 2 sets of calipers per rotor makes a brake job 7k. If you need rotors it’s 15k. Special tires just for this car $1100 each. Ballers only!!!

Honestly, I'd own one of these very soon, I still prefer this to the recent models, the only problem is that if I intend on daily driving it, I gotta be ready for those hefty costs that will definitely come up in fixing up this Maybach as compared to the recent models.

Double Pane laminated glass in many top of the line Uber autos. But u noticed it was triple pain laminated glass. Triple, tripod, triangle = three. Double equals two. Just a little math languages slip. Pneumatic assist closing doors. Just touch the door at the close position, don’t bounce it against the frame, counterintuitive towards the subtlety of quiet luxury. Spectacular achievement by Mercedes, just love the car thank you.
