  • Just a short video on unloading and loading film into my fed 5 with a few other tips and n how to use the camera.
I ordered this camera from the Ukraine initially to use as decoration in my office and have been using it for about 6 months instead of just putting it on my shelf. It is definitely one of the most difficult to use cameras I own but there is something about how it feels when I use it that keeps me coming back to it.

It nearly wore my thumb down to the bone when rewinding the film.

Yeah I have to remember to only use 24 exposure rolls because rewinding 36 is awful

One of the better Soviet cameras (not saying much of course). The Industar lens you have is quite good.

Yeah I agree. I have a handful of Communist cameras and this one's build quality is definitely better than some of the others. I was pleasantly surprised by the rendering ability of this lens. My praktica probably has the best build and feel of all my commie cams although I only ever use Japanese glass on it.

If you like half frame maybe you should look into an Olympus pen ft. For a flash you need to use a PC cord into the socket on the back of the top plate.

I’ve never messed with half frame before. I like the idea of getting that many shots in a roll I just don’t like how small the images are.
I’ll pick a Pen up and give it a shot though 🤙

How do you print out the pictures?

    • @Mike_to_the_k

I mail my film down to a lab called Dexters Camera in California, they develop and scan my film for me then I can print the scanned images onto whatever paper I want.

@@Mike_to_the_k это не совсем правильно. Это кривой путь. Плёнку распечатывают фотопроцессом, посредством света на фотобумагу с химической проявкой. То есть электроники не должно быть вовсе.
