- because a lot of new carats (and even old carats) tend to have this misconception that jun doesn't fit in or is "detached" from the group because of how abnormally quiet he is, i feel compelled to make a compilation of seventeen being fond/cheering jun up.
honestly, i was one of those who misunderstood jun's camera shyness as a way of him being ""left out"" but after digging back their old contents, wow jun is 10x shyer during debut than he is now! i feel like the members know about this which explains why they dont pressure him to talk so much with the camera rolling and let him do whatever makes him comfortable. ofc however there are instances where they try to make jun come out of his comfort zone by talking on camera, but even then they're super supportive and sweet towards him. you thought they'd make fun of him for being timid but instead they keep cheering him on like i showed in this video.
if you were to compare 2020 jun and 2018 jun, you'd feel like they're two different people. the recent jun is beaming with confidence and is also more comfortable conversing in korean and i love this development! there are still instances of him being nervous when the attention's directed towards him now however it has significantly improved!

Dan C. One of the dynamics i like! Seungkwan is a natural spokesman and is born to be an mc but he never seemed to look down on jun or any of the members who aren’t as “talented” as him. In fact, he seems to be really understanding of jun’s circumstances as an mc which explains why he always hypes him up. His reaction to jun during debate night looks genuine.. like he’s really really proud of jun for speaking up. I do think that he’s one of the members who’s always on the lookout for him by trying to provide a comfortable environment for him to talk

He is such a wonderful person who is always so attentive for his members' conditions and mood. He might be funny and all but he sure is perceptive. Jun is actually a good speaker when he voluntarily says what's on his mind or when he had prepared for it. It's just that when he is asked on the spot he tends to get shy and lowkey panic 😅

Junnie is so adorable when he's shy. It's so nice to see how supportive the members are to him. They always let Jun express his opinion, helps him whenever he needs and is literally cheering on everything he does. I think it's one of the biggest reason why Jun is gaining so much confidence now. He has been talking more and being more playful in front of camera without hesitating nowadays. After all Jun deserves it, he's so precious ♡

Something I noticed about Woozi is that he gets happy when others speak, but gets very excited when Jun speaks. He always leans in, looks directly at him, and gives a more animated reaction. He gets invested in Jun’s words which shows how much he values him.

Honestly this is probably one of the things I love most about seventeen: their friendship really must be something special for them to understand and respect each member’s particular weaknesses like this (in this case, jun’s shyness). As a shy person, I really get how nerve-wrecking and difficult it is to be yourself, and with jun being an idol, it must feel a hundred times worse for him knowing that the eyes of thousands of strangers are on him all the time. Knowing that the other members are always there to encourage and support jun (and the other quiet members of the group!!) whenever he’s feeling particularly shy in front of the camera really makes me appreciate their friendship all the more and only shows how strong their bond is. 🥺

He is actually a good speaker, he has good ideas but he doesn't know how to properly deliver it in korean so he choose to be quite. But when he joined a show (The Collaboration) in China with The8, he became an MC for the final ep and I was amazed, Jun is very witty.
there is another recent one in their Caratland where SCoups asked Jeonghan ( who was the MC in that segment) to let Jun speak more
yes, ive seen it myself. and when jeonghan did ask him the question, jun panicked a lil bit because he wasn't prepared and jokingly said "pressURE!!" instead of pressing him about it, the members understood what he meant and went "oh ok". this shows that jun's camera shyness still hasn't completely disappeared and seventeen took note of it so they didn't push him even further to talk, instead they tried to loose him up by asking other people around. now that.. that is very sweet of them honestly. you think they'd still make fun of him for being so shy despite being an idol for 5 years, instead they were still supportive of him entirely.
Him getting extra shy in front of camera got me a secondhand embarrassment ahhahaha. But I glad to see he's regaining his confidence on talking in front or expressing his thoughts nowadays. Plus the members are really kind and caring. Being a really shycat like him can be destressing so having attentive and supportive friends like they are are really helpful. Wishing him more n more confidence in the future!

There's this thing called _introverted Gemini_ and they're extra hyper when they're with people they're comfortable to be with or when in an environment they're very familiar with, but they get shy and quiet when around (just) acquaintances and strangers. I am an introverted Gemini myself and I kind of understand Jun's personality when told to do something on the spot.

I also one of that people who misunderstood jun's shyness happened because him being left out by the other members. I became a carat since March 2020, and i spent almost a month to find proofs that seventeen are not left jun out. I almost just want to stan jun because of that, but then i became ot13 stans right away after i saw their friendship while i searched for proofs. Samee, i thought Jun is not close to the members because if we want to compare with minghao, minghao is much more clingy and has a lot of skinships with other members. So i keep on finding myself searching for jun's moments with other members. And i'm glad to see all of them adore Jun so much and always support him whenever he is trying to talk. Wow 50k already! I didn’t expect so many carats to reach this video! I made it with my own satisfaction and out of love i have for jun and im glad i could share it with all of you. As im a new carat who only entered the fandom during left and right era, i always thought jun was one of the loud, outspoken member so it really surprises me to find out how shy and timid he was back during his debut years. I genuinely think that he has gained confidence throughout the years and this is not only due to how supportive and understanding his members are but he also takes initiative in improving himself (which explains why most of these moments here are quite recent!)

Jun really deserves all the love and more. He has become one of my favourite members because I understand his personality as I am similar to him. He's really talented and good at what he does. Whenever I watch a seventeen video I always look for Jun because I don't want him to think we don't see him. Jun, we really see you.
This made my cry because thinking about Jun since Jun reminds me of myself. Jun to me looks like he has something so say but he couldn't. Rather the members not noticing that he wanted to say something, they would ask him if he had something to say. Jun is lucky how he has friends who are supportive and would sometimes hype him up when he wanted to say something or when he is shy. It’s great to see Jun be more comfortable. I think because Going Seventeen isn’t live and he really only needs to interact with people he’s comfortable with, he doesn’t feel as pressured (also probably because it was so regularly, it helped him get used to it). It’s been almost a year since i became a Carat and i just have to say this. Jun was the reason i imidiatly fell in love with SEVENTEEN. His voice just stood out to me so much that i had to know more about this AMAZING group. Clap was the first song i heard from SEVENTEEN and everytime he came on screen i smiled from ear to ear (still do) and went back to rewatch his part (Jun was my first bias). I get very panicky too when someone puts me on the spot and I’ll always have that sense of anxiety thinking “oh shit they’re about to put all the attention on me what do I do?” It’s not a nice or easy feeling that can be curbed in a day
It’s easier when I’m prepared for it or actually want to speak up voluntarily so I’m really happy he has such wonderful ppl like SVT being patient and cheering him on but also encouraging him lovingly to speak up so he’ll get used to it

Thank you for this video, I think it will really help new carats! Been a carat since 2016 and I always see people speculating about Jun's relationship with the members which is upsetting. I also want to add a moment I don't stop thinking about, which is when they played foot volleyball in Going Seventeen TTT 2018. When Jun made a mistake causing the opposing team to win a point the whole of SVT said "it's okay" repeatedly and cheered him on, then when he made a good hit shortly after they hyped him up sooo good. The way Seventeen take care of each other's mental health like that is really heart-warming.
Everyone in Seventeen is supportive! They're so lucky to have each other. They never competed and weren't greedy for screen time. All of them make sure that at least each one gets to speak and shine. Especially for Seungkwan, Cheol, and Jeonghan I just noticed they always guide the other members to speak more!

You know what's bothering me it is the fact that Jun used to be a child star back in China which means he already experienced talking and acting right in front of cameras ... maybe something happened in the past that traumatized him or make him more anxious about himself...

I forgot where but jun himself stated that he’s more comfortable conversing in his mother tongue which also explains why he’s so proactive in cyzj. even then he was still kind of reluctant to leave minghao’s side. Plus performing and speaking are two different things. You can still be a great performer but also shy and i think the adlib episode is a great example of this. Jun was really into his role and he didn’t mind having all the attention directed to him when he was acting however when he’s just being himself he still gets easily embarrassed.
I’m also like him. While i’m fine with acting on stage and talking in front of the class, i become timid off stage. Heck jun’s career is also against his personality. Usually if you’re shy you wouldn’t want to be seen on stage singing and have all the attention towards you but it’s because it’s his passion he’s willing to get out of his comfort zone which is very laudable. I admire him as a shy, reclusive introvert. I think it’s starting last year that he’s more willing to speak up on interviews and becomes more expressive as well!

i think alot of it is language barriers, bc even though he speaks korean very well now, he is less comfortable in the language. for example in cyzj he talks alot and seems very comfortable there
he's talkative and active in Chinese interviews, that's why I love more watching svt chinese related shows. And cyzj made me stan Jun and will never get wreck (hoping) but I love all of them.

i've been a carat since for a long time but unfortunately, i've nvr really focused on jun before. my bias had always been cheol. it was only during hot era that i started focusing on jun and it's safe to say, i've fallen in love with him. thank u for making this video and giving carats like me a chance to look back at these wholesome and warm moments. trust me when i tell u i shed some tears seeing how precious this man is and how much the rest of the boys love and care for him.
As an INFP-T, I can totally relate to how awkwardly he presents himself. When Im fully prepared and comfortable with people, they tend to think I am confident (which is how I initially thought Jun was before I was a carat). However, he seems to be anxious and flighty when he is randomly asked to comment. Also, he is such a good speaker, and a good debater as well. Coming back here after ALL 13 MEMBER RE-SIGNED their contract really shows that everyone is truly a family, siblings and a team, and that they are comfortable with each other not just on screen (which is only what perceive is everything) but don't mind doing this as a group in the future years to come. My heart is so warm right now T^T
Ig this is why Jun is my bias since I can relate to him in a more personal level. I know what's its like to not immediately be able to organize my thoughts and say it out loud at an instant especially when all of the attention diverts on you. Although I want Jun to be more confident, still, I just want him to be himself and be in his comfort zone and speak whenever he feels like it and not because he needs to.
Each and every member is so valuable to this team I cant even imagine my life with one of them not being here.
Honestly Being an idol who is an introvert and camera shy, groupmates like svt are probably one of the reason why he is still continuing his job. Because being an idol is different with being an actor and really just having supportive people who understand you even if they dont fully understand you is enough to give you strength.
