We are being better business owners and taking new vintage inventory to the booth, going over my Antique Malls Sales for the month of July & talk about Facebook Marketplace listings, my own & a few that have caught my eye. I also want to talk about what the future looks like for antiques, vintage and retro. Thanks for coming along for the ride!

I love your videos. I had an antique store for 20 years and then sold my buildings. I now have 2 booths in an antique mall 45 min from me. I am also currently going thru my bins of stuff and tossing,donating and categorizing items for the booths. I know people have NO idea how much time and work goes into this business. I am trying not to spend more money on inventory until I get rid of my excess,like you.

I retired from the military after 25 years and found myself unable to work. I decided to get a booth and you are correct it is work and many don’t realize the work that goes into it. My family gives me such a hard time about this newly found hobby. They feel I should get a ‘real’ job😂 if only they knew.
@@b.l.wilson9724 It always boggles my mind why people are so concerned about what we're doing for work. I own a vintage clothing and home decor ecom and it's amazing how many people opine about getting a "real job" they literally have no idea how much work this all is. And as long as it is paying the bills, why do they care?

It’s true! I am a 27 year old and I own only vintage furniture, art, decor. Everything in my apartment is vintage or used (except beauty products) even all my clothing!

Re. Book Slide - Having investigated previously, prices are consistently high for ones like yours. Think value lies in the adjustability and the brass detail is particularly pretty, which suspect indicates older, better quality example. Modern ones are "just not built the same!"

I was cracking up laughing at your story about snatching your cat. And those hailstones! Yikes 😳! Love how you share all the pictures and prices of your inventory and yes…I’m a bibliophile…that bookend was unique but not four hundred dollar unique. When buying bookends I stay in the 35-45 dollar range. I have an art deco set I paid $50. I think your pricing is spot on (from a buyer’s point of view) Thanks for the quality (& funny) content!
This is definitely inspiring me to work through my doom pile. I wanted to go to goodwill today and I refrained! Instead I washed and priced stuff to take to my little booth sometime this week. 💪💪 Thanks for the virtual kick in the pants! ❤

Holy crud the size of that hail was ridiculous! PNW hail is a bazillion times smaller lol. Loved the brass and wood bookend and you big huge mirror.

Yes, they were trying to scam you. I've listed something on Marketplace and 3 people tried doing the same to me. Almost insisted that I give them my numbers, because they claim they wanted to pay for it and send someone else to pick it up. No, scam!
Yes, I too have had many people ask for my number or for me to call them. I always just delete these people now.
Also if they ask for your email.
I've had it happen a handful of times too. They always seem to use the picture of an attractive woman who is a supposed "digital creator".

Thanks for sharing! Glad you didn’t have a tornado but I am envious of your rain. Here in central Texas, it has been over 100 degrees for almost 6 weeks and we are in a drought. Might get your roof checked with hail that big! 😮

I sell quite a bit of furniture on FB marketplace and from time to time I get scammers asking for my phone number. That's good that you didn't give it out. They don't need your number. Most people on FB are legit...you just have to be careful of the few who aren't. Btw, I love your channel. You have an amazing eye for home decor!!

Have implemented two strategies..... Categorizing merchandise then taking at least 10 items in a week.. 😮 this really helps my brain not be overwhelmed!!! I'm off to shop number one today with maybe item!! Thanks a million for those strategies!!!!

You might want to have your roof checked for hail damage. Sometimes it’s not obvious unless a professional gets up there and inspects. The roof on my house was replaced several years ago because of hail like that, and there were dozens of areas where it had damaged the shingles, which I couldn’t see from the ground.
That’s the biggest hail I’ve ever seen!

I have a booth at an Antique mall as well. I always list my larger items on FBMP. However I get a lot of scammers on there and it only seems like it is getting worse. However I do what you did. I just say all items must be purchased threw the antique mall, then I add the mall’s information. If they are for real they will go to the mall or call the mall for more information. Usually this leads to a no response.
I also put in every listing I post the malls info. And kindly ask them to come into the mall, or contact the mall for more information.
The scamming is so sad. However the true people who are legit make it worth while to continue to post to FBMP. I have two booths at my center. 1 is more home goods and the other is clothing. I kill it on the clothing. I think you are totally right about the younger generation.

I had that exact same spiral lamp! Loved it. I had it so long and used it so much it became very brittle and the individual spiral pieces started to shatter. So sad.

Another "good content" video! After being inspired by the "doom pile" video, I have been following your suggestions and feel very motivated! Question...when tagging/pricing your items, do you think that the price is enough, or is it better to have a good description as well? I am so guilty of going down the rabbit hole when researching!
Me too. I try to be as thorough as possible but 5 minutes or more to write a tag is too long! Gotta move on.
Most Dishwasher detergent have bleach in them and can compromise color, structure and metal finishes..that's why you wash them by hand to protect these vintage items 😊

Ditto on everything. Honestly we sell 85% clothes and accessories. Although I can't keep Eastlake tables with marble tops in the rest of the furniture is sloooowww. Although August it's picked up. I don't think I ever want to go 100% clothes though. I love vintage too much.
Amanda, Do you stamp the pretty serifed "A" on your tags? Or, use decals?
You are getting a lot higher prices for stuff where your booth is. My booth is in Southern California and I am in the only antique mall in an area of 500,000 people. But the clothing thing is true here too.
What price do you have on the oriental blue mugs with the birds on them, in the front cupboard?
Is there a listing fee and time limit for FB market place now?
I’m just seeing this episode pricing vintage inventory. I spotted two oval frames that look like dried flowers in them with a navy background. Are they still available and price please?
