Yup been there. Bought a 130 AWX Passat about 5 years ago for £180 which was pressurising when you put the foot down. Driven easy it was fine. 1 head set and skim later and it's still going strong
Why no one talk about small holes on head gasket? It's important for you to know what thickness you need! Do you know what thickness is for 1.9tdi pd 96kw asz engine? Mine have 2 holes, and it's ready for change, my coolant going back to coolant-bottle.
Hello, what was the engine mileage at the time when this repair was done? Is there a particular way to drive the car in order not to blown the head gasket? I mean revving too much when engine cold, aggressive downshifting both things are no good for the gasket right?
There's no real way to know when or if a head gaskets going to fail. Changing coolant for the proper stuff and at the proper interval on cars is often overlooked and helps. Just generally take care of it

I heard you couldn't skim the heads on a pd engine 🤔

We call those cheese bolts " Butter Nuts" here in the U.S.
