Love the way you "cheat" palmering the hackle. Tying some up for my west branch float

In a couple weeks I am headed over to Boone, NC for a wedding. Am planning to do some fly fishing. If anyone has any experience or knows of any good spots and/or flies to use this time of year, please let me know. I figured one of these videos would be a good spot to seek possible information.
