I saw Robert Francis at The Troubadour in 2008. I lost track of him for the last few years, but i for sure thought he would’ve exploded in popularity. it is surely not for the lack of talent! He must not have sold his soul to the entertainment industry and satan and kept it real and clean this whole time. Way to go, RF.
Sort of more or less what happened. He had a breakthrough in 2010 with Before Nightfall, but he didn't want to compromise his artistic freedom for the follow-up in terms of working with certain producers, songwriters etc. It made for an absolute masterpiece and in my opinion the best album he's written - Strangers in the first place - but it also meant that he no longer had the backing of a major label.
All things considered, a real integrity move!
This man has more than one song that can get me to the point of tears, that's a special musician.
I love this man and his music. Makes me cry, shiver and goose bumps.

@FabulousSummer94 If you listen to the music its kind of a modern day romeo and juliet. He alludes to the prologue at one point. She moved on to some other guy who was more practical and he was so heart broken he killed her.
