What good memories this group. First of all, it was the first rock band I saw live. It was in 1982 in Lille (North of France) and this album is also the first album I bought from the band and it was in 1983 in Swansea (Wales). It's a rock band that I really like and especially this album.
Manfred Mann's Earth Band As Above So Below ruclips.net/video/d5wbYnqWc90/видео.html Manfred Mann's Earth Band - Nightingales & Bombers - As Above So Below (1975) "The title of this album was inspired by a recording made in Surrey, England during the Second World War, by an ornithologist intending to record Nightingales. The bombers flew over at the same time and were recorded by accident. The recording has been incorporated in 'As Above, So Below'.
when the this lp was released inside the sleeve had a form where you could buy a piece of good earth I forgot the details how much earth and cost but it was a real thing I never bought any though and the rooster sound effects, When I visited my daughter she has all these chicken and when the hen came to front porch in the morning I would play the and he would start looking around it was fun.
Next up should be Nightingales and Bombers Album...Right up there at the top of instrumental progressive rock music with Pink Floyd, Genesis, and Yes in the mid seventies
Missed this one,John...great reaction--loved it! The Good Earth is a fab album throughout. Yes..Manfred Mann was a keyboardist who speciaized in the Mini Moog Synthesizer. ELP's Keith Emerson used them alot, too. I hadn'r heard this in ages ( I have alot of their albums). This version sounded pristine,bro- gotta by remastered. I'll have to hunt that down! More MMEB...in case you haven't done any other material..I'll check. Thanks, T
John, I just stumbled onto your site. I watch lots of first-time reactors. Dig your setup. If you are a Blue Oyster Cult fan, check out a tune from Albert Bouchard's "Imaginos 2-Bombs Over Germany" record from 2021. Check the opening track titled "When War Comes." Interesting tune and a short, rockin' outro.
Manfred Mann ( keyboards ) to me is the best arranger in rock. He can take anyone's song and make it his own.
Solar fire, the good earth and nightingales and bombers to name just few albums amongst many. By Manfred Mann's earth band are all worth a listen .
As well as 'Get Your Rocks Off' album, and The Roaring Silence!
Yes, you recognize good music when you hear it. There is hope for the youth at least musically.
Fantastic band!
Great tune... ROCK ON!!!
