Fighting games at their best!! Both players are so talented too. Love that they put Akuma in this game and that he's cool in the hands of someone like punk.

It's crazy how punk really stood out against the best ryu player using Akuma for the very first time
Paladin is not in the same league as Punk though... he never makes it top 16 in any major tournament. So not surprising that he would lose here. Punk has faster reaction speed and better focus than Paladin, so it doesn't matter which character he is using, he'll get the W.

Ryu very strong this patch. No excuses for Ryu players now. Ryu ain't "weak" anymore. INB4 "But we have a rough time against zoning." Every character has bad matchups.
Ryu's zoning is pretty good, especially after he is able to save his Denjin. If played correctly, he can even beat Guile in fireball shootouts.

@@Cosmoman78Paladin beat Du today with Ryu in TNS winning the entire tournament but we'll see. Ryu notoriously loses that MU every game but need to wait a few more weeks. Guile was always his hardest matchup and the other one in Cammy was only slight advantage and she just lost her ability to deal with projectiles as easily. Ryu can't be excused anymore for losing with how much he got.
As a Ryu main, I've always said Ryu is the best he's ever been, even before the patch. Now with this patch, he truly begins to shine.

@@samuraiprime5044 It isn't much different online... Akuma has most of his old moves, and once you practice a few combos and lock it in muscle memory, you're good to go.

@@studivan If you watched punk’s stream yesterday you’d see him literally learn the character from day 1. At the start he was dropping combos left and right, and trying to do SFV combos that don’t work like light tatsu > heavy tatsu. And this was all in ranked lol. Some people just hate to see other peopl’s skill I guess

First 10 games have to be wins. Which brings you into Diamond I believe. Then it’s about 30 more wins from there (If you get streaky). Plus they probably benefitted from people not having answers to their movesets just yet.
