Found this video after 7 years of watching it and just found it again, shame this ride was removed and it’s sounds from this video will remind me of how great it was, brilliant old video!
Was so lucky to be on the 2nd last ever run of this ride! So amazing, flamingo land says it was to expensive to keep running. They were supposed to be replacing it with a new up to date version but they bought 'Mumbo Jumbo' instead! Hope they eventually bring it back!
this was my favorite as a kid, it used to be called the Waikiki wave im talking like 15 years ago now. the sound of it it brings back good memories. shame its gone.
When it first arrived in 1994 its cycle was awesome, and had a few preset choices. Gradually year after year it seems that rather than refurbishing the damage, they're just limiting its capabilities to prevent quicker wear & tear. Its now so limited its a really poor cycle, especially considering the load/unload times!
Hmmm what makes me think is the kind of restaints used and if you look closely at the mounts for the car it would be possible for the car to go right over. Regards, Bri
This was actually being used to it's full potential. The manufacturer made two kinds of a ride called Waikiki Wave. This was the bigger one that doesn't flip. There was also one called superflip that there exist a few of in for example Australia and Mexico, that have the ability to flip.
***** Nah, the mondial supernova is a different size and the seats face in another direction. Go look at a supernova then look at this. Vekoma made two kinds of waikiki waves.
If I remember right I'm sure this was called Wakiki wave before it was called Tidal wave, because I remember the noise but I also remember the ride being slightly more close to being upside down than this footage shows. I never rode Tidal Wave but I remember the name Wakiki wave without a doubt, even if I was a fair bit younger than I am now haha!
@coolcar100 No no, The ride has two modes, in low season, they put on the mode when it 'Hangs' You at the top. In high, they make it shorter, to get trrough the queue quciker
this was the first ride id go on everyday when a was a kid staying here was excellent and after going today after a number of years i must say its not as good as it was but hey times change
I remember going there in the late 60's when it was known as "Cowboy City" with the added attraction of "Flamingo Park" There used to be a lake with a couple of islands and you could hire an indian style canoe and just head out and explore for half an hour on your own if you wished, no life jackets, no life guards, no health and safety and probably no insurance, it was just great!!
I read somewhere that they didnt want to use it to the full potential so there were more family rides in that area, not sure if this is right or not but it makes sense
Casey Tear it's silly that FL got rid especially as it was in the area of the park now called Splosh which is now water themed, big mistake getting rid of it. Was a great ride
Stayed on site at bingo land in 90s you get an extra hour on morning before park opens and would spend most of it between this and sky flyers riding repeatedly between the two
I dont know about any other rides, but the corkscrew flamingo land had was there for awhile, its the exact same design as the alton one but there not the same ride.
goin to miss this ride i loved to operate it :( getting replaced by new rollercoaster called mumbo jumbo goin in guiness book of world records for steepest drop cant wait for it to open LOOKS awsome)
The way this ride moves combined with that eerie howl, I absolutely love it! I remember seeing something similar to this years ago called "Canyon trip" i believe. It had a different seating arrangement and a middle separation thing, but same eerie noises! Thanks for posting this.
Mooshpups the "Canyon Trip" was one amazing machine! I rode it at Morey's Pier and Busch Gardens. That hydraulic motor screaming sound was music to my ears. It's a shame that there's no longer any running. This ride here at least has half of the cool sounds as the canyon trip, the other half was from the boat splitting apart.
Scurrow When I was a little kid I wasn't scared of being on the ride I was scared of the way it moves and that noise reminded me of an air raid siren but now I find it funny, great ride btw. (Before it got took down)
@princessflowergirlx if your talking about Ripsaw, its a different kind, the one like this^ and the Dreamworld one, it can go in other directions, its a pisific ride. but the ones like ripsaw are just topspin rides that can only go around and upside down. if your talking about another one please message me about it :)
have been to flamingo land a few times and it has way kewl rides shame magnum force and bullet is no longer there last time i went to this park was 4yrs ago lol
Nooo The waikiki wave is gone? As a child going to Flamingo land in the 90s I used to love the noise it made and eventually summoned enough courage to go on it, gutted! ( That it's gone, not my stomach. )
It looks similar to the King chaos at Six Flags great America in Gurnee Illinois. However I noticed it doesn't go completely upside down Like King chaos does. But it looks cool anyway.
I just thought it had more potential than what I saw. The drums on the car look like they could go right over but it didn't...oh well it's gone now so not sure I'll ever find out!
isnt this a new one ? :S because i remember one like this in flamingoland went in the air and it spilt then came back together an also it went upside down and stuff and also it was called the wacky wave then
Found this video after 7 years of watching it and just found it again, shame this ride was removed and it’s sounds from this video will remind me of how great it was, brilliant old video!
My heart dropped because I thought the thing snapped in half omg
i used to love this ride as a kid and even liked the creepy sound it made
Love that sound!
They had this ride at Adventureland here on Long Island, NY but it was called Surf Dance. My favorite ride!!
Used to love hearing that noise and the noise of the bullet while in the caravan!
I love these ultra flexible top spin rides.
This ride will always have my childhood. RIP 😞
Is it not there anymore?
+Molly!Xx they stupidly got rid of it for mumbo jumbo
come to dreamworld and ride the wipeout
Nathan Ring Star I went last July

I miss flamingoland I'm crying right now we don't go much now I miss magic phill

That thing needs some lubing... Or some new gears.. I know hydraulic motors are noisy but this is mad.
FullFledged2010 but I i
this was my favorite as a kid, it used to be called the Waikiki wave im talking like 15 years ago now. the sound of it it brings back good memories. shame its gone.

this rollercoaster was quiet goood, i will miss it.
Looks very fun
Bring this back!
One of the best rides at flamingo land should’ve never got rid of it
Aaah we had the same ride in Cape Town South Africa the Tarantula at Ratanga Junction which was longer about 3min and the sound was really loud
Hmmm what makes me think is the kind of restaints used and if you look closely at the mounts for the car it would be possible for the car to go right over. Regards, Bri

Was named wikiki wave at some point 100%
The motors sound like sirens! / Very good video!!!!!! :-)
Tidal Wave was a fun ride back in the day!
God
I thought the dam thing was comming apart!
I bet this ride was dangerious giving you some serious whiplash or back pain.....
@coolcar100 No no, The ride has two modes, in low season, they put on the mode when it 'Hangs' You at the top. In high, they make it shorter, to get trrough the queue quciker
in mexico is the same game but his name is Huracan, is on Six Flags
it was amazing i hope they bring it back soon
Now that was RADICAL! :O but nothing can top the chaos that Experience can give you
No the ride was demolished but I want it to come back
this was the first ride id go on everyday when a was a kid staying here was excellent and after going today after a number of years i must say its not as good as it was but hey times change

That's a lot of Moola....not sure of it's age either..is it worth that much? Thanks for the comment, regards, Bri
This one does not go upside down because it is not a Super Flip version, unlike the ones in Dreamland or Six Flags Mexico.
Stayed on site at bingo land in 90s you get an extra hour on morning before park opens and would spend most of it between this and sky flyers riding repeatedly between the two

this ride was the best sound to hear when waking up in the caravan park, now its gone :(
goin to miss this ride i loved to operate it :( getting replaced by new rollercoaster called mumbo jumbo goin in guiness book of world records for steepest drop cant wait for it to open LOOKS awsome)
The best part is the mom and boy fighting with bags in front of the ride Bwahahahahaha

HOLY SHIT. Man, dat ride be The John Denvah Exp-e-ri-ence FO REALZ FO REALZ!!
I'm going to England JUST to ride this!
I came here to watch the ride and got distracted looking at the stuffed sledge hammer fight that was happening in front of it lol...
@CR33 T3CK it hasn't anymore, the ride in Japan has and saw is behind it I think
Looks awesome
Looks so weird, yet so cool
This is like the ride topspin 😃, the sound is hella creepy tho- i thought the arm will snap goddamn
used to wake up to the noise every morning in the caravan then scramble to get ready.
That's so amazing looking. I wish I would have the guts to go on it. :.(
Omfg.. that looks amazing!! I would so go on that.. if it was still there..
@princessflowergirlx if your talking about Ripsaw,

is it good?
have been to flamingo land a few times and it has way kewl rides shame magnum force and bullet is no longer there last time i went to this park was 4yrs ago lol
Love this ride, just wish it was longer ...
Nooo The waikiki wave is gone? As a child going to Flamingo land in the 90s I used to love the noise it made and eventually summoned enough courage to go on it, gutted! ( That it's gone, not my stomach. )
wish this was still there :/ knew i should have gone on it years ago!!
I would scream so loud that glass would break X-X
I remember when I was about 11 I went on that, now 18. I think I'd crap myself hahaha!
same ride that was at Busch Gardens, Williamsburg, Va. It was super boring so they got rid of it. (not too many people wanted to ride on it).
You are so right, it takes longer to get on & off than to actually ride it. It seems such a shame! thanks for the Coment! Regards as ever, Bri
Isn't this where Mumbo Jumbo stands?
ItzzzDemon - Tutorials and more! Tidal wave got removed
Nah they meant isn’t mumbo jumbo there now, and ye that’s where mumbo jumbo and Kumali is now
Yes it was because the kumba thingy one is behind it
It looks so fun!!! :D
that ride was awesome!
I will always ride this ride
Is this ride not there anymore?
I wonder if there is anything like that in las vegas nevada USA.
I was in Flamingo Land that is so amazing !!
I used to love this ride as a child. It is better than Mumbo Jumbo!
this isnt at flimingo land no more :( i loved it
It looks similar to the King chaos at Six Flags great America in Gurnee Illinois. However I noticed it doesn't go completely upside down Like King chaos does. But it looks cool anyway.
How come they didn't make it flip upsidedown?!
My daughter went on, but I'll stay on the floor Lol. Thanks for the great comment, regards, Bri
Wish this ride was still there :/
Never got to ride this cos when i went last mumbo jumbo replaced it but it looks good :)
I just thought it had more potential than what I saw. The drums on the car look like they could go right over but it didn't...oh well it's gone now so not sure I'll ever find out!
อยากไปเที่ยวจังน่าสนุก

Keep the memories alive! Specially now it's gone, thanks for the comment, regards, Bri

They have a thing like this a six flags... I was there. ;u; But instead of bending, like this one does, it flips upside-down and stuff. SO COOL.
Bless..you might like the replacement even more!

Any new rides would be good and will help keep the park fresh! Cheers, Regards, Bri
Hmmm at that price I'll have 2 lol. In one sense it's sad when rides are sold but that's progress and new rides will no doubt come in! cheers, Bri
