There's been tons of failed "NFT Games" that never even commercially released, and some that did and failed instantly, IDK what they are thinking 🤣

I'll give Sammit, Forsberg and LZ the benefit of the doubt that they didn't know what kind of game this was. But pretty scummy if they did and gave the thumbs up. A lot of their fans are pretty young and impressionable so this isn't great
Formula Drift have been shilling it as their official on-block chain game for at least the last half of the 2023 season if not all of it, so there's a zero percent chance Sammit and LZ didn't know, no idea how Forsberg is when it comes to the internet maybe he was/is ignorant to it, but given Kearney's been sponsored by "Hyper NFT" for a season or two I'd say it's pretty unlikely that people are truly ignorant to it
The car folks that are gaming folks will likely remember the whole CS GO gambling situation with people like Tom Syndicate, NFT/Crypto crap is this generations CS GO Gambling but the house of cards hasn't crumbled quite enough for the mainstream to put two and two together (Makes you wonder how considering the whole Crypto Zoo scam situation but hey ho)

Wrong. You can earn the cars through the game. It's not even a fully finished game. It's still in beta. In the full finished game you can buy the cars with in game currency that you earn from gameplay

@heavenlygamer19YT is right, the game is still in development and most items will be earnable via gameplay. The NFT side is completely optional and for 99% of cars and parts you'll be able to earn or purchase via other means.

$2 or $3 a car adding up to $60-$80 is ok if the game is solid and gets good free content updates. Kinda pay for how you want to play. The majority of people aren't going to spend more than $10 per car though.
Now we just need someone to do a direct port of the LZ map into Assetto or CarX. 🙌 Ive seen some but not as detailed as this.
Only good thing that'll come out of the Formula Drift / Torque Drift partnership is if this map leads to a port, the original has a 1200 player peak on Steam with like 500 average daily players, meanwhile CarX peaked over 5000 and regularly hits 24h peaks of over 4000 players... How they think/thought making an NFT version of the less popular game despite constantly being advertised by FormulaDrift was gonna work/end well is wild

Torque drift 1 is a great game. If you play the game you can earn paid cars and mods. Majority of the cars I have in that game are premium, and I've spent absolutely no money on that game. Just playing and getting crates gets you cars that you can buy for 10-15 bucks
The game would've been so much cooler if it didn't had all the goofy NFT stuff. Game companies have the potential make actual good games but then they have to ruin it by doing the most idiotic thing ever. I swear to god man.
This game will never get past a test phase if they don’t get rid of the NFT thing. Which is sad, it seems like it has a good set up as a game, but the NFT thing is simply unacceptable.
The mobil game was ok the crates used to be decent in a way of getting Pro cars but they have made the change to only rent them out for a certain time after getting it though crates

Pretty sure there is a assetto corsa version of his compound as well. I believe I noticed it while scrolling for mods in the AC content manager. So for anyone that loves to drive here and owns AC look it up!

Yes in an indirect way due to MTXs.
Rookie numbers when you consider games like Asphalt 9 make you purchase cars for hundreds, if not thousands of pounds. But still, a shame to see Torque Drift lean into NFTs at all.
A9 still had things like progressions, fun gameplay. Even though it was quite p2w and a grindfest. Which are acceptable.
But Torque Drift 2? Nah thats just straight up nothingness.
I prefer asphalt 9 for the fact that you can either grind to obtain cars or pay up which makes it more gacha like where a torque drift is trying to force the nft down your throat

You have to really grind to get stuff in that game. I didn't like it because the gameplay and handling were so goofy and unrealistic. You could just do like triple 360's and 720's spinning through the air. And the drifting sucked so fake. It was 100% a mobile game. Also there was no open world and very few maps and courses.
First of all it's not all about nfts. You can get the cars through playing the game.
There’s no in-game currency. It’s literally impossible to get the cars without paying for these shitty NFTs.
And don’t hit me with the “oh, it’ll be available for free in the full release of the game.” I can bet my left and right nut it won’t if they decided not to include it in this version or even speak of possibly adding it.

PSST, you dont need VSYNC to get rid of tearing, just limit the max FPS to whatever your monitor is. Or, if your not hitting those framerates, limit it so 1/2 or "60" like most Vsync options does.

so i did a bit of research into this game. apparently, if you buy parts or cars in game. they give you a discount on irl cars/parts
all i can see is the possibility of this map being ported to assetto corsa

its so frustrating when a game with absolutely mental graphics and extremely good cars + customization that very few games can replicate has to be a nft cashgrab that is impossible to play
they can stick this game up there you know what.

Torque drift 1 is more fun I'd say....i got a 4rotor big turbo ps13 with close to 1000hp ...and the tuning side of it is mad and and detailed to the stiffness of the roll bar and even the tuning of the angle kit 😮

honestly with some of the youtubers cars that are involved i would say for sure they know, and for some its not the first scummy thing they may have done, just a new way of doing it.

Having the cars and parts for sale with irl money - is a scum move. That Adam LZ's or Sammit's cars cost irl money - is kind off ok, at least in the original game - the drifters were getting a cut from the sales and I don't mind to support my fav drifter.
But paying irl money to put a seat in a virtual car - no. Won't happen.
i just looked and they have a 38 dollar r34 v-spec II for $38 or a nismo S-tune for $288 whaaaa... games fun tho so far just not much to it yet
Torque Drift 1 was also full of scummy monetization, where you got like 30% of the content without paying for it.

I wonder how it works for a game where you use reall money to buy cars. But my idea was cents. Like if a car in the real world cost 100k. In the game that would be a dollar, 50k that would be 50 cents etc. but damn almost 300 dollars. For that price I want someone to come scan my real car and me to put me in the game. That's the only way I can see a cost like that.
