How about 2 green dots when shooting in direct sun light. Quite annoying in my opinion. Did you get them too? Any tips how to avoid (except flying opposite direction :) . Thanks Ken

I spotted the clips you capture thru the Air 3S each corner was out of focus and heavily blurred, but only the majority part of the center images were in focus and clear~ are you attached the ND filter on or just using the wide angle 24mm lens to shoot videos?

I notice in all these video's that there a lot of out of focusing at the corners. Especially the top left corners. Look at the part where you have the cruise ship in the upper left corner. Very clear in the center, but out of focus at the edges.
Great review, I can also verify I’ve had the same horizon tilt and phantom obstacle detection issues (in extreme cases completely shrouding the drone from all sides meaning the only way to move was to switch to sport mode). As you say we’ve had similar problems with the Mavic 3 pro drones. I think all Mavic drones have a few issues initially - remember that magenta cast on the Mavic 3?!. Hopefully firmware updates will iron out this ones kinks 🤞
Yea I have noticed the OA issues with my 3s.. especially when flying into direct sunlight .. it will slightly shift left or right from flying forward in a straight line as if the Lidar (in bypass mode) thinks there is something in the way.. it’s subtle but definitely noticeable . If I plan to fly in a straight line directly into the sun for video, I switch to sport mode which turns off OA and then I switch back to normal flight mode once I end the video

When the first A3 came out I purchased it while traveling. All the reviews at the time said how good the images were. However the reviews were crap as I found out. DJI refunded my money after amiting there were problems. I purchased a second hand M3 and being a photographer have never been happier. One thing I learnt was to take reviews with a grain of salt. Now I liked your review. However, in the first video, I noticed the highlights were blown out. Might just need to come down a stop? Anyway the A3S does look like a big improvement. Still only time will tell. Thanks for your video. 🙏
I’m glad you’re late to the game OriginaldoBo cause so am I. Coming from an Air2S which I’ve loved over the years although crashed it without DJI care so probably time just to upgrade rather than repair it. This seems to be the drone I’ve been looking for. Cheers.
The Air3s is a decent drone with a great deal of headroom. With the advanced chipset and hardware improvements, they are just a few updates away from something potentially awesome. For now, it's kinda "meh" in my opinion. A great upgrade from the Air2s, Mavic 2 Pro, or any older drone. It's a better platform than the Mavic 3 series but I still think the 4/3rds camera on the M3s are still superior. Of course, that's a subjective evaluation, opinions vary.
I'm going to get the Air 3S in the near future. Right now, I still mostly rely on the Air 2S & the Evo Lite+. The flight specs on the Air 3S are impressive and quite a step up from the 2-3 year old tech I'm now using. I've been lucky enough to hang out with some friends who have the Air 3S and overall, I'm pretty impressed. If I was to have one gripe it's the issue of using quad bayer tech on the 1" sensor just so DJI can say that it produces a 50mb pixel photo. Good review Ken.

I tried to order one, DHL was completely useless in trying to help get the offer processed/through customs and actively lied to me or tried to give me the run around when I tried to make inquiries to figure out if I should refund my order. Eventually went to DJI and their customer service was excellent, they refunded my order and arranged for the drone stuck in customs to be returned. I ultimately ended up buying a Mini 4 pro instead because I needed a replacement drone and knew I could get one locally sourced. May end up getting something beefier down the road. I fly an inspire and Mavic 3 pro for my job and was hoping the Air 3s would be my new everyday carry drone replacing my aging out air 2. Mini is as capable if not more capable than my air 2 but I would have gladly paid the difference for some of the upgrades on the 3s if they were available.

Similar views. They seem to have some baked in sharpening that’s impossible to turn off but it’s not too bad. Color saturation is better and easier to manage.

Three weeks so far in US Customs Update: Just got an unexpected call from DJI. They want to send me a re-shipment of the Air 3s fly more combo. To see if it will pass by US Customs- fingers crossed
That’s kind of funny you’re like it’s not that big of an upgrade from a three to a 3S except for the tracking the camera and the maneuverability which is pretty much like everything except the battery life lol
I'm retired after 45 years of working. So not interested in making money with drones. I am a recreational explorer of the 800 acres of private land surrounding my property. Not a photographer. The sensors just show me where i am going. and looking at.
RUclipsr Tamara Gabriel already spilled the beans about the DJI Mini Mic today. Posted a video by mistake, and then removed 3 hours later. But it was too late, thousands of people already watched it 😂
2:06 and 2:49 etc. My guy, the optical performance of this lens on the edges looks horrendous. Personally, Id have sent the drone back for refund and pray the Mavic 4 comes through or ordered a different drone. The edges on my Mavic 3 Classic are razor sharp even wide open.

Looks like it is sharp only in center of frame. Citiscape shows it more. Is it postpro or any problem with lens?
I use a lot which I can add distortion in aberrations to my taste so my footage I like a little more stylistic

In mine specifically I use M-lut which lets me control the focus stylistic choice

Appreciate your efforts, mine is enroute, had to order a RC2 after finding out my older DJI Smart Controller is incompatible with the 3S 😮🤬

Moire will always happen, these drones do not have low pass filters so that will happen

Yes, apparently the A3 batteries work with the A3 S but the difference is you don’t get the smart sleep mode with the A3 batteries

Well, some people are prepared and some not so much... 12v battery chargers, SD cards, cables, I always bring extra for just this reason...Hahaha!

Fourteen stops of dynamic range -- What does that mean?
It means that you have greater flexibility to recover highlights and shadows in your footage.

The air 3s is a great drone, got mine in 8 days after ordering day of release. It’s ALMOST as good as Mavic 3 Pro

I always do a 30 min before sunrise of our town and the air 3s is 10x better than Mini 4 pro but about 80% as good as my Mavic 3 pro.

It’s not enough for someone to buy this if they own the 3, the tracking isn’t something that everyone uses.

The edges look incredibly poor and soft, they’ve either done a shit job on the lens or you have a soft copy.
