Description: Los Angeles, California - On April 18, 2024, around 2:20 p.m., Central Area Resources Enhancement Services Enforcement Team (RESET) uniformed officers responded to a radio call of a female possibly being sexually assaulted in the area of San Pedro Street and 6th Street. Upon their arrival, the officers determined the possible suspect was no longer at the location and requested a RESET supervisor to their location. As the officers continued their investigation and were standing near their police vehicle, an individual, later identified as 32-year-old Kyle Harpt, approached within several feet of the officers while holding a knife in his right hand. Moments later, Harpt suddenly ran toward the RESET supervisor while raising the knife, resulting in an Officer-Involved Shooting. Harpt was struck by gunfire and collapsed on the sidewalk. Los Angeles Fire Department personnel happened to already be in the area and began rendering aid. Harpt was transported to a local hospital, where he received medical treatment and was listed in stable condition. Harpt was not the suspect in the sexual assault and had no connection to the radio call the officers were investigating. Harpt was booked for 664/187(a)PC, Attempt Murder. No officers or other community members were injured during this incident. An eight-inch folding knife with a three-and-a-half-inch blade was recovered at the scene.

I kept only what I could fit in my sedan, gave away the other valuables, and tossed the rest of my belongings. It’s exciting and scary at the same time. This a long with at least a 10 mile radius of that corner is an example of Gavin Nuisance, rob bonta and George Gascons failures. And yet the sheep here don't do anything about it. The only people I feel sorry for are us law abiding citizens that are more and more being limited to protect ourselves and the poor officer that get that area to patrol

He said it can be best characterised as being hours of boredom interrupted by seconds of sheer terror!
That description was lifted from a famous quote about the way it was in the Vietnam War.
@@rhizomorph-musicno doubt, this sergeant was like 50+ in 1994 so maybe he was there 🤷♂️ as there was no internet as we know it today at the time.
How the US has fallen, I can't imagine anyone walking down these streets least of all with their family.
Its happening all over the Western World
its not the us just big dem cities and states majority of america is great like always just big urban cities
@@hatfieldmain I agree. Regards from Europe.
@@chady1229 That's not true. Violence per capita (and/or other dysfunction) is much worse in rural areas full of meth and opiates.
This video, and others like it, give a distorted picture. Things were much worse in (for example) the era of the Crack Wars.
That officers situational awareness was impressive
32-year-old Kyle "Harpt was not the suspect in the sexual assault and had no connection to the radio call the officers were investigating."
Bizarre.
psy-ops or some shit
Didn't you know that straight white males are the most dangerous.
All black men are gentle giants that have a hard time breathing.
I caught that too. Did they catch the rapist or not?
@@BobPlaysOfficial of course not - and in Cali even if they did they'd be out on zero bail by dinnertime
I found his couchsurfing profile:
"Hello, I’m Kyle and I have lived in socal my entire life. I just quit my job in November of 2022 and plan on traveling around the world and the lower 48. I kept only what I could fit in my sedan, gave away the other valuables, and tossed the rest of my belongings. It’s exciting and scary at the same time. I’m super into hiking and nature and love live music.
I hope to see all the national parks in the mainland US while driving around. I plan on sleeping in a tent and in my car for the majority of my trip and want to hang out with people while visiting their area. I would love to eat at your favorite place in town or go with you on your favorite hike.
My favorite things to do with friends are to play board games, travel, go to events, and conversation/enjoying their company."
peak bleak
How can he afford to travel without a job? Gas isn't exactly cheap.
@@m.choudry4898 it's obviously a terrible plan and it didn't work out. he got stuck in california
" I just quit my job in November of 2022" - and it only took him 18 months to wind up like this. Don't quit your day job, kids.
sold his car for gas money. Now he only has the tent and some board games.
Take it from a born x raised Angeleno of 57yrs, never ever go to Downtown L.A. or Hollywood unarmed.
Bring a knife to a gun fight, said no one ever.
"Come to LA she said. It'll be fun she said."
She's still in shock from the homeless SA attack.
@@davidparker9676LMFAO
Dude that’s a straight up walker from the walking dead
Seeing that the entire street was full of homeless people shocked me.
It's Skid Row.
Hilarious, cop first looks at the zombie guy like he’s just a average regular zombie but doesn’t notice the knife in his hand and looks away
I live in southern California far away from downtown but I know that area and I can tell you it is an absolute shit hole. It's an area if you go at night you will never be found again. It's an area that has city workers passing out needles to homeless people, it's an area that if u walk you will see people shooting up drugs in the open, it's an area that if you are a decent human being and don't have a CCW with a firearm on you YOU are crazy to be there.
You have a problem with needle-exchange programs?
I don't know what was more unnerving, the knife in his hand or the expression on that weirdo's face.
LA has really gone to shit in the last 20 years
More inequivitable proof that you shouldn't bring a knife to a gun fight
anyone else notice the guy conducting an invisible orchestra ?? everything's totally normal in LA btw
LOL. I saw him. Dude was having a one-man dance off
Thats the freak show that is the US.
these videos are getting uploaded faster than we can say the words jiminy jillikers

This is California.. his charge of attempted murder will be brought down to agg assault with a 1200 dollar signature bond.
He brought a lunge to a gun fight.
Night City from Cyberpunk, a supposedly dystopian nightmare city, is unironically safer than LA.
We're living in a cyberpunk dystopia - it's just not as cool looking as the ones in fiction.
Incidentally, L.A. per se is not very dangerous.

Hey Google? How many Citizens get shot by Police today? 😂🤣
Crazies are everywhere. Don’t let your guard down.
The contrast between poor and rich in LA is crazy. You see this absolute shithole then in the distant million dollar skyrise apartments.
