@OGdadpool Yeahhh lol it's precisely because of this movie TBH. When Sonic 3 gathered them, I instantly thought they could be great together, a TV show, comedy, or else. They could do almost anything, pretty sure it would be something 🤞
It would have been great, but the director would have a harder time sticking to the script then filming the original Caddyshack.

Jim Carrey was in my grade 10 English class for a year..in Burlington, Ontario….with teacher Mr. Dave Creighton…who I personally liked immensely, and who was as big an influence on Jim’s early success as anyone in my opinion, given that he recognized his talent early and wouldn’t just shut Jim down for clowning around. Instead he’d just let him go, mostly at the end of the class if he held it together. Jim would then do guys like Nixon, Clint Eastwood, Jack Nicholson…but he would also do great imitations of a few of our teachers as well. His dad’s accounting office was above the place I got my haircuts….and to be fair, nobody had an idea at the time that the Carrey family was unfortunately facing some serious financial challenges already. With that said, I did get to see Jim actually do his first show to a group of about 30 people, at the local Holiday Inn, in the Flannagan’s Lounge (in case he reads this…hahaha). We all thought the stuff he was doing was great..but honestly….never thought it would wind up being much. However, pan forward only a few years…and I’m reading that he’s dating Linda Ronstadt…and he’s on Johnny Carson…so there you go. And by the way, he was also a top notch student…which people might not have expected but it was clear that he was obviously an intelligent guy…as he has proven ever-since.

@alwayspete Thank you Pete…it’s quite difficult to reconcile the very young guy we knew…and the international icon he has become. But then again, everybody has to come from somewhere, and we were lucky to see his earliest forays into trying out something, which at that point was just a quirky talent…with a lot more going on underneath.
People mistake comedy actors and comedians for clowns/goofballs.
It’s actually hard to write and act comedically.
I was born in '86, and Jim Carrey and Robin Williams were my two biggest heroes in Hollywood growing up. Two of the greatest improv comedians of all time, and I got to be raised during their peaks. So many greats, but only one Jim and only one Robin, RIP.

I was an extra in his movie, “Once Bitten”. He did this dance at a big high school Halloween party (in the movie).
Dang, he could move, and then, Mr double jointed himself, raised his leg all the way up in the air from his left hip to his right shoulder and used it as an air guitar! Wow.
Then I saw him later in an entertainer building (agents and such have their offices there). He was on the phone but I decided to wait to talk to him. When he got off the phone, I reminded him of where we met and so we said our hellos.
He was so excited because he’d just gotten off the phone with his agent and told me that he just got a new gig and that it was supposed to be a big deal!
I asked him what the name of the show was so I could watch for it and he said, “In Living Color”! How cool! And he told me this right before he called his wife and told her! I felt pretty special.

i love the interaction with margot robbie. She obviously valued his praise greatly and almost started crying but he recognized this and de-escalated the situation with comedy. That is such a masterful thing to do. Dude can literally control people with humour.

One of my idols. Taught me when I was growing up it’s ok to step out of your comfort zone and just be yourself. I make my family laugh all the time and it all comes from a place of dumb weirdness and not caring what people think. Jim is one of a kind!
