I'm getting my first set of acrylic sculptured nails done tomorrow! I've never been very girly and have rarely been able to maintain nice nails. I find 'girly' environments a bit intimidating, like hair dressers, beauty salons, spas etc - because I never know the correct terminology for things, but watching your videos has given me the confidence to try something new. I did lots of research on nail salons in my area and called up the most highly rated and recommended one. I asked about the application, maintenance, removal, potential damage etc and they were so polite and friendly! I'm so excited!! 💅🏼

I had a lovely time. I went for short round acrylic nails. They look so so good!! The salon was spotless and all the staff were really chatty. It took less than an hour and I'm booked in for 3 weeks time for a rebalance 😊 soooo pleased I plucked up the courage!

My mom used to be a nail technician over 10 years ago. I remember once she got a hold of some Chinese nail art magazines when I was a little girl. I used to look at them for hours and hours; at all the beautiful models with their beautiful hair and skin. And I remember them having nail art just like this! You truly brought me back to that moment!

These 3D flowers are amazing Suzie! It made me giggle when you got so excited about perfecting your design with the lavender edged flower. I think you could definitely develop different flower styles like an orchid or a poppy. I could totally see a dark green/evergreen nail with some red poppies!
If Suzie says it's taken her ages to get this right there's no hope for the rest of us

Suz, I don't do nails or have them (I'm a biter 😐) but I enjoy your videos and I really appreciate that you try things even if you aren't sure what the outcome could be. We can all use some of that optimistic fearlessness when trying something new and give ourselves a chance to practice our craft, make mistakes, and improve. You're the coolest!
If you get a small bead & let it go matte before you start pressing it out it will allow you to press the petal out easier. And you could lift the sides of the petals so the petals so they are a little more raised & not so flat against the nail.

Suzie I absolutely love the way you teach your craft. I began doing my own nails about 4 years ago not knowing what I was doing. Then I came across your videos and I have learned so much. The next thing I'm trying work on is 3D work like your beautiful flowers.
I betchya reversing it and using the color side towards the middle of the flower petals could give a dramatic look too. I'm thinking yellow based petals with that hot purple for the center lining.. that would be so pretty

I've been HOOKED on your videos ever since Jenna Marbles mentioned you. After binge watching for the last couple weeks I had a question! How do you deal with peeling nails? I like my natural nails but they tend to be quite thin and want to peel at the tips. Should I buff them to even out the surface? Also, I would love to see a video on tips to keep your natural nails healthy (vitamins you could take, maintenance, how to make them stronger etc.). Thanks!
Lacey Keith Don’t buff them, as that removes layers of your nail and will ultimately make them thinner. Maybe try using nail oil and keep on thinner layers of nail polish? Jojoba oil based nail oil is the best nail oil, and fish oil tablets and vitamin E tablets will help stimulate nail and hair growth. Avoid removing acrylics completely if you wear them; leave some acrylic on your palate so you have something still on your nail and you aren’t tearing off layers. Hope this helps!

I've seen others do the petals on some wax paper or the paper you do the sculpture nails on then you can design the flower then pick up a finished flower on your nail or each petal individually to design your flower.
I like to sculpt on the nail directly - the nail is my canvas 😍 . I can sculpt it to fit how it looks best on the nail. That's just my personal preference - it's more fun for me😃

yumi304 no, honestly it wouldn't. When you pay the 200, you are paying to get your nails done. So when you get the kit, it's the 200 plus however much Money the supplies are.

No, my nails are very healthy. I have good application and removal technique, and when I remove a set I keep a little acrylic on the nail plate - so I don't cause any damage at all😃
