If she's possessed that would not be unprecedented since that's what happened to Ayame, and that ended pretty poorly for her. The anime adaptation kinda skipped that event.
A lot of *spoilers* things. For example, Ayame is supposed to die but in the anime she is spared and the true identities of her and Aoi Satan are removed in the anime.
It was originally a mix of a dating sim and tactics game, but this time they have swapped tactics for action hack-and-slash. It's set in a path of 20th century history where WW1 did not happen because of a demon invasion, with the lingering threat of them returning still present well into the '20's. To combat this, Japan develops steam powered mechs that run on the spiritual powers of their pilots to bolster humanity's manpower against the demons- the technology in the beginning of the series was still very experimental and compatible pilots for actually making the mechs respond and move at all were scarce and hard to find. On duty, the teams of pilots fight under the banner of the Imperial capital defense force while maintaining the public front of being a theatre, with the team performing various stage shows and plays between sorties- on the surface it's to build morale and public image with the civilian populace, but it's mainly to serve as team building exercises and emotional strengthening for the pilots, who all start out a little disfunctional for various reasons- Sumire was arrogant and selfish; Maria has stilted and repressed emotions from her past live as a Russian merc; Iris was a young child and is thus terrified of her own immense spiritual powers, Kohran conceals feelings of helplessness and survivor's guilt as the sole survivor of a bandit raid on her village in China etc. As the technology became more reliable, Japan began establishing anti-demon teams in other countries, including Germany, France, and the US (the German team eventually was dismantled and merged with France's). This new revival of the series takes place 12 years after the 5th game, so it's now 1940, and the climate of the setting seems very different since the most we know at the moment is there was another massive demon war that appears to have wiped out the past teams, and now there's a big tournament between nations with their own representative teams of pilots. The woman in the purple kimono in the trailer is a character from the original Japanese team, she retired at the end of ST4- looks like she now manages the Imperial theatre; the masked swordswoman in the trailer is almost certainly Sakura Shinguji, the de facto heroine of the original series and the one the new heroine Sakura Amamiya has been stated to admire in some earlier promos
I didn't expect such a detailed reply! I was expecting a game with these visuals and especially story involving mechs to be turn based tactical combat like The Legend of Heroes or Valkyria Chronicles so I'm really surprised that it has hack and slash gameplay. I've always wanted to control a mech in real time. Really looking forward to this. I hope it doesn't require much knowledge of the past games.
@@odddd99 Your expectation would be kinda right, it originally was partially a tactics game for the first 5 games- this shift to a real time action system has been seemingly divisive in the comments of these promos SEGA keeps releasing. This is a soft reboot, it shouldn't be too dependent on what happened back then- this is 12 years after 5, after all. Anything from 1 thru 5 that matters to the current story will likely be explained; and the basics of the setting will likely be addressed since we have a whole new cast of people, with the new Sakura likely not really having any idea of what exactly things like koubu are or how they work and thus will need it all explained to her and thus the player. If you want to catch up right now, go watch the anime adaptations of the series; they have some material deviations from the games' plot here and there but nothing that should be relevant to this new game Though I wouldn't compare it to Legend of Heroes: Trails in terms of scale of its world and narrative- that subseries already has long surpassed the Gahgarv Trilogy in how huge it is.

特に1とかは舞台や歌がちゃんと出来る前提で声優選んでるからね。舞台は1が売れたからそのご褒美で実現出来たようなもんだし。3以降は歌唱力前提で選んではいるらしいけど舞台化にはなったね
今回も多分歌唱力とかでちゃんと声優選んでるとは思うよ
