- The second in the series of Beginners guides to Seamatch fishing, in this one I ask club match anglers, during a competition, what their top tips would be to someone who is new to the sport.
There are lots of great tips and plenty of fish caught
The next video we will hone down into rigs
Top tip, just enjoy your day,
Blank or fill your bucket.
Great work CJ Tony and Team!!! Looks like a beautiful day for fishing 🎣
Thumbs 👍
Great video always Great to watch when you getting home from a long day at work and watch two of my favourite fishing video's Tony's video's and TA fishing both awesome
I agree with Tony about the AirPower, It was a shock to find how stiff they are, I need to learn how to get the best out of my pair in order to get the distancefrom them !
Akios in general though tend to have a quaility control dept rather like a British Leyland night shift :(
I should return 50% of my Akios kit, a reel and a rod rather than get around to fixing them myself :(
I agree with you about Akios quality control
Always a great watch, keep castings guys
Great video really enjoyed that 👍
I love your videos its so much better than watching telly or net flix because your films are much better and very good friendly and very good anglers just love it mate 😊
Thank you comments like that make it worthwhile to make the videos
Glad to see the young man Chris is getting used to it brilliant mate 👍
👍
Eazy tony you ok and hi to chris. Once again thanks for another cracking watch. We love the show up here . All the best from GRIMSBY.
Thanks Carl
Nice one Chris said this many times with rods mate.
👍
Hello loving all the videos and great advice. I'm wanting to get back into sea fishing and wondered who do I contact to get into these matches ???
Good video as always CJ and the pup Bertie 🐶 is looking lovely. Nice to see and hear from different anglers the tactics and tips even from the ones that have just come into it 👍 hear in the south coast we dont do many matches in the day it's mainly in the evening i would love to try matches in the morning it would be interesting.
Come and do one, Tony does a day match virtually every other weekend. But there are always others.
Another great vid!...and some brilliant tips to boot too!
Nice video & tips again👏 🐟👍
Thanks.
Good video 👍🏻
I found that with the carbon fiber rod it was deceptively strong. It came with a "soft top" and a "stiff" one. I only use the 'soft' one. The other one may as well be boat rod.
First place nice . In the pan .
Nice òne! Good chap Tony is. He's like a more likeable Brick Top from Snatch!
He doesnt keep pigs though.
its different now to when i started match fishing "before youtube" had to watch and learn myself how to cast, bait presentation etc etc, luckily i had alan yates steve almark to help, now it seems people can just watch a short video and half the job is done for them 🤷 my top tip is dont tell anyone anything 👌
You still learn more from doing it yourself.
My top one is first aid kit. Rag for hands. Im 62 now not fished so much but been fishing sins i was 10.
Thanks.
the down side is ,, my new renaissance rod has lost the inner ring surround from the first eye from the tip eye .. can i get a new eye ??or send the tip back to black rock ??
Morning Chris. Can you give me some advice. I am not a big caster(50/60 max). I have injured my right shoulder which Is my casting arm but reel in also with my right hand with the fixed spool mounted accordingly. How do I train myself in order that my left shoulder bears the weight or do I just do very short flicks which would mean fishing from the prom or the pier? Regards, Dave, broadstairs
My recommendation would be to see a good physio, and be guided by them, im no expert and would hate to tell you something that would make your condition worse. Good luck, i hope you find what you need , in the meantime, piers and jetties might be your best option.
i fished with my silstar power surf rod coupled with a diawa 7HT reel ,the rod was £110 , the reel was £150.00 it caught me fish ,,
Great.
i was in that match ,but sent to the wrong place , i would have been 4th , but me and tony have spoken about it seee you all soon
i caught 5 plaice peg 11 aone A near the sewage works 92 points if it counted
How long they leave baits out
It really depends on how long the baits are lasting, and how fast the fish are biting, some top match anglers fish to the clock, and are rebaiting every 10 to 15 minutes.
Only done small comps. What match fishing.
Thanks
Why has everyone got distance casting screwed up in their heads...when the fish are at their feet ??...Tackle shops catching fishermen ..deffo
You know better than England international team members do you?
If the fish were at their feet, that’s where they’d be casting.
If you can cast distance you can always cast short if that is where the fish are, if you cant cast distance, then you can only cast short, so wont be able to catch fish that are at a distance, if that makes sense. So its a useful tool to have, plus i have filmed enough matches to reallize distance casters generally catch more fish.
That was a good watch, more top tips.
I sent you a couple of emails about Chesil, after your last vid.
Yes you did thanks, i meant to say thanks. Its definitely on the list of to dos.
I made that mistake with the AirPower. Luckily Tony let me trade it in for a Gravity
he will always do that
