Short answer, yes, there is interference between elements although I believe sodium - potassium interference is more troublesome. There are papers on this topic such as www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/0003267061801347

If you go to 1:45 in the video you can see the four controls. The bottom right is the fuel control, clockwise to reduce the fuel level (leaner mixture) anticlockwise to make it richer.
