What your friend said was very wise! Also, not trying to argue but I don't think of what he did as an affair. To my way of thinking an affair, although definitely a sin, involves a certain amount of affection and emotion between the two people involved. What he did with that woman or those women, regardless of how many times it happened-seems more like an impersonal business transaction: services provided for a fee-but still a serious sin. (Just my opinion.) Our God is a forgiving God and I am so thankful that He is because I have done some very stupid and sinful things in my life, especially when I was much younger!🙏 ✝️

Yes, he broke our hearts, and we, as God commanded, forgave him. His punishment is knowing all the damage he did to God's kingdom. But at least he left a beautiful legacy of inspired hymns for us to worship along with and enjoy.
