ORT/NEED: What is a deacon? What do they do? Phil 1:1 To all the saints in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi, including the overseers & deacons.
1) Does the Bible say deacons are in charge of money?
2) Does the Bible say deacons oversee the church?
3) Does the Bible say deacons visit the sick?
NO! The Bible says deacons serve & the church decides the service.

3:8-10 - A deacon must have character.
3:11-12 - A deacon must serve his family as they serve together.
3:13 - A deacon must serve with great faithfulness.
