Until Disney made its recent resurgence, I never knew wanting to be a princess was such a huge thing. When I was a kid, I wanted to be Simba.
The Lion King was the one to make the biggest impression on me when I was a kid, it holds a very special place in my heart, and I love Simba.

I don't know.... I wish it would. My friend went to one of the parks, promising to bring back something for me. He wound up taking me out to lunch, because he couldn't find anything Lion King.
I wanted to be Belle or Esmeralda growing up, but not as a princess. I wanted to become a woman unafraid to live life according to MY rules and no one else's.
I don't know. A lot of the whole "princess/wanting to be a Disney character" thing might be even more lost on folks of the male persuasion. I don't know anyone who ever wanted to be Prince Charming (probably because he never got any lines in the old movies). I did kind of want to be Jack from "Jack and the Beanstalk", but that wasn't made into a Disney movie.

I love this song so much. I have never heard it before, but I can relate to it. I'm a tomboy, and people are always telling me that I have to "act like a girl", "sit still", and to use makeup and fancy clothes, but I don't listen to them. I do my own thing. I don't need a boyfriend or anyone's approval, because I know what I'm capable of and I know who I am.
